Well of course there are shootings elsewhere, but not even close to the frequency of the US.

Just for the record I used to love going shooting with both center fire and shotguns. BUT.
250 mass shootings in the US just this year alone.
Just under 300 dead and just over 1000 wounded in under 6 months.
As a reference there were approx 2000 killed and wounded on Omaha beach in 1944!
And that's with real soldiers trying to kill you with MG 42's.
This way of life is unacceptable in the US.
What next, the national guard and tanks at the school gates?? A kill or be killed mentality.
Take the US flags from the pictures and put up a third world zone, and can you tell the difference?
This is not what my good friends in the USA need in their lives.

I think it's too easy to say to simply take away guns from citizens. I know it was done in AUS after that massacre in the 90s, but I don't know what the guns per household stats where in Australia at the time. I assume quite a lot lower than USA. And in Australia, once banned, I figure it would be quite hard to illegally import guns.

There is far too many guns in the USA to say ''give em up, boys''. How many aren't registered? Give up the registered ones and the illegal ones are buried in the garden, so to say. You'll quickly end with a landscape where only the criminals own guns and are now safe in knowing the vast majority don't have guns any more, so it gets even easier for them. Looking at some States that have recently announced they won't be prosecuting theft under $1000 (or even higher in some cases), how blatantly people go to stores now, take TV's and phones and whatever they like, without paying and zero disregard for anything, one can only imagine how quickly the USA will deteriorate if literally only criminals own the guns.

IMO it's an education issue. **** knows what they're doing over there, but for comparison sake, Switzerland has a very high gun ownership and getting one isn't really that hard. The last mass shooting they had was in 2001. Hell, they only had 3 mass shootings since 1900. USA has had that many in the past 3 days!

Education is what's needed. But that's not a short term solution.

Taking away guns from citizens will only end up with criminals having all the guns, and with the wonderful open border with Mexico, wouldn't make it all that hard to get any type of gun you'd like illegally anyways.

Knowing how kids are in a class and how mentally unstable teachers are. No ****ing way would I arm teachers, lol

I'd use the military and professionally trained security/ex police and install a couple off armed guys at each school, particularly higher risk ones (I'm going to make an assumption here, but I'd say almost all school shooting happen at low to mid income areas. Still the overwhelming majority of schools that is, of course).

 

I saw Obama outright blaming the Republican's for this ****ing mess now. He had the House, Senate and the executive branch. Where the **** was he then? He could've easily passed through any gun restriction law he damn wanted. Too busy taking hand outs is my guess. Hypocritical **** that he is.
