I guess this discussion is something you'd like to comment on... Another bunch of Darwinians including the one's who don't wear crash helmets. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/why-dont-people-wear-seat-belts.545620/
Great "robust conversation" there Simon. You should be a politician Also you should be using https:// where possible. Do you really want the government to track your metadata? Not wearing seat belts is a cultural thing. Much like underage drinking, smoking, doing drugs, etc. The only reason YOU wear a seat belt is because of the massive fine and Police WITH GUNS to enforce the laws and the constant reminder to wear a belt and now it becomes 2nd nature to buckle up. Remember when you were young there was NO seat belts? So you should get off that high horse we already have one horse. If you want to go on retarded tangents lets talk about Abortion. Are you Pro Abortion like the leftist scums in America who hate guns but love killing babies??
My Lexus beeps it's head off if I don't put it on quick enough (thank you the land of the brave ) The Ferrari doesn't care (1996) My dad told me when he was alive that Italians don't like wearing seat belts because it would mean they aren't a good enough driver (by this stage he was 3rd generation Aussie so what would he know other than what his full blood Italian family had told him) Is that what you meant by a cultural thing ? Police , military , farmers (strictly controlled) and SPORTING shooters should be the only people with LEGAL guns and as I said further up the thread, the sporting people should have the gun locked in a secure safe at the range
No Tony,I don't wear a belt because I might get a big fine if I don't,I wear one for self preservation, what a stupid statement. Re seatbelts,my folks started buying Volvo's in 1975 when the first 244 came out. I have driven Volvo's since 1974 when I bought "71 144s. They all had seatbelts as standard(as did the '62 P1800 and 64,66 and 69 122s's that I owned). I started driving in 1973,all the cars I owned had belts in 'em. I have never not worn a seatbelt whilst driving on the road(slow going 4wding is a different matter). Legislation came in 1983,front and 1989 ,rear. I always feel naked if I'm in something old that does not have belts. Every time I pickup backpackers to rent a car I stay stationary until they put on their belts, the number of them from just about every country in the world who go off when I tell 'em to put them on is incredible.......until I tell 'em that they will be paying both their's and my $300 fine. I could go on about having modified most of my cars with Recaro style seats and full harness belts, but I won't. I was just showing the mentality that if you don't need to preserve yours or other folks' life, even when the tools are literally around your shoulder, then more fool you. What is http and metadata? You said it was the dumbest post but it didn't have who you were quoting I have several people on ignore and the new software obliterates them from the forum now whereas they use to just come up as on ignore but it makes for confusing replies sometimes
Whilst in europe recently, I found it funny how lots of American tourists were saying they were afraid to visit Oz due to our killer sharks , snakes and spiders. Lol I told them i was afraid of visiting the US in fear of getting shot.
Greece ranks about 4th in Europe re road toll. When I was there a few months back, the only people wearing seatbelts were tourists. I sat in the front seat of a cab and tried to put a belt on but the driver had jammed something into the belt lock to stop the beep when someone sat in the seat. They did experience a big drop in the road toll in 2011 when a fine of 350Euros and loss of license for 10days was introduced for not wearing a belt. Idiots....
