Can I bring the car ? It's old and slow just like me I actually like the idea of living in the US because I have to behave myself when driving ....... it's the ONLY place I drive with respect and curtesy for the gun loving nutters behind the wheel
So gun massacres by kids with guns is just an 'unavoidable childhood risk'; can't help wondering if you'd feel differently if it was your kid who was shot... Any proof for your last sentence?
Interestingly, a lot of commentary from the time has disapeared, but if you Google Mohamed Noor you'll get the gist. The Mayor who hired him was forced to resign. He was a hotel manager and a mobile phone salesman before becoming a cop. There were also multiple complaints about his attitude towards women - imagine that from an African muslim male http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/07/18/mohamed-noor-somali-american-cop-who-allegedly-shot-jessica-damond-lauded-by-community.html

FIFY. Can't use an AR-15 to hunt deer in most of the the USA, but you can use it to hunt your friends, neighbors, classmates and strangers. Crazy ass world, ain't it? D
Sure, we do "old and slow" better than most places here. I actually sold my zippy car and swapped it for a Mercedes. Comfort vs. handling? I'll take comfort every day here. Most of the roads are 4 lanes wide, and straight as an arrow. We actually have a section of highway here referred to as "the Big Bend" because it makes a 90 degree turn in less than 3 or 4 miles!! D
Yep, sort of. And they get over a 1,000 a day just like it. The person answering the phone has to make an initial assessment as to the threat level. It's an imperfect system at best, but with13,000 agents, total, the FBI wouldn't have time for anything eise without the phone screening. They missed this one, for sure. Hard to blame the director for this, but he'll take the heat. It's not a system failure, per se. But, it could have easily been a call made to the local police as well. The guy making the call was local, so he could have just as easily called the local PD, where the kid's name was already on their radar. Hard to catch them all when you toss in the number of calls they get, and the wide variety of their nature, from child abuse to potential terrorists.
This turned up on my Facebook this morning; not sure if it's a real movement or just someone's dream but it seems a good sign if the kids themselves really start pushing for change. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155516956483520&set=a.10150335653808520.339576.615278519&type=3
Heard on the wireless this morning that a kids grade 3 sporting club over there has decided to go ahead with a fundraising raffle where the prize is... An AR-15 *shakes head*
From Facebook I am a forensic psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and the law and how they relate, including the statistics related to mental illness and gun crimes which I’m qualified to talk about as an expert witness in court. Mental illness and gun crimes are unrelated. Hate and the determination to kill are not mental illnesses. Can someone be mentally ill and kill someone? Of course. Do they kill because of a mental illness? In almost all cases no. Depression does not cause us to kill someone. Mania does not cause someone to kill someone. Most mental illnesses are not associated with violence. Statistically, mentally ill individuals are far less likely to commit violent crime than non mentally ill individuals and they are FAR more likely to be the victim of violence than commit it. In the very rare instances mentally ill individuals do commit violence, they rarely use guns, tending to reach for weapons of convenience. AND FAR MORE IMPORTANTLY: mental illness cannot be the cause of our gun problem in the US BECAUSE OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE THE SAME RATES OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND NO OTHER COUNTRY HAS THIS GUN PROBLEM. It is simple logic. The prevalence rate of Schizophrenia, the diagnosis I see most erroneously associated with violence, is 1% WORLDWIDE, NOT JUST THE US.
Hehe...it DOES insinuate that there are more cases of mental illness in the 'states than any/all the other countries in the world......................................................combined. 'cos as has been proven by the NRA and their disciples..................it's never the guns' fault.
Soooo, what do you reckon the solution is to school shootings in the OOOESSAY....The official lightbulb moment! http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-22/donald-trump-proposes-arming-teachers-to-stop-school-shootings/9473282
34 mass shootings to date this year in the U.S. 346 mass shootings in 2017. They are now talking about arming teachers and higher security at schools. What gun problem, I don't see a gun problem in the US.................. I don't know who the loonies are, the reps of the NRA or the nut jobs killing everyone. What next, kids going to school with flak jackets on, and swat teams at the school gates. " Seeya mum" Have a nice day sweetie- Have you got your lunch? yes mum Have you got your togs and towel?? sports today, yes Mum Oh and don't forget your Glock and some spare ammo clips darling! That was the first thing that went in my bag mum. Oh no, I think I left it on the bus! Are they nuts?? What next? Free tank parking in the school staff car park??
They're past the point of no return Gleggy, they don't care about the dead kids, Sandy Hook should have been the catalyst for sensible gun reform but it just went into overdrive with the morons buying guns as if they were lollies
