They have fewer gang deaths that are part of the total gun death toll. Thanks for making my point that former felons shouldn't be entrusted with guns, aka Australians.... In addition, Switzerland demonstrates that it's not the gun laws that matter. So all of you clamoring for more gun laws are missing the forest for the trees, or the kangaroos... Kai
So you agree that the US culture is the problem. Where did I make that point? So again you agree that the culture of the USA is the problem. You made my point for me, thanks.
The Swiss have compulsory Military service and I seem to recall remain in the reserves afterwards? As a result the populace are trained and have a completely different and responsible attitude to guns. This would likely be the cause of the lower gun related murder rates. You Americans seem to think the answer is more and bigger guns than the "other" guy has. In truth I think the US gun problem is now so large, entrenched and out of control that I can't see how it could be turned around.
My family came here from Italy in 1851 as business people , built ball bearing factories amongst other things ....... just use your gun for a good use by placing a small piece of lead under your left ear .... holding the gun in your right ear ...... and fire It won't hit anything
Exactly. Surely that is the logical conclusion of their argument? Otherwise they must agree that a line needs to be drawn somewhere on availability of weapons. At the moment it is obvious to any thinking person that the US has the line drawn in the wrong place.
Gabrielle Giffords, the former US congresswoman who was shot in the head four years ago and now mounts her campaign for gun law reform in the whispered, halting speech with which her injuries have left her, campaigned in Seattle just two days before Jaylen Fryberg killed his school buddies with the handgun he took from his father. During Giffords' painful 10-day campaign tour through nine states, not one single Senate or congressional candidate showed up to stand next to her. Too bad that you must make things personal when logic and facts fail you. But at least you live up to expectations... 😱 Kai
He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot. ― Groucho Marx
Why is Giffords misguided? Presumably she had gun carrying security around her when she was attacked - why didn't those guns save her? Why are lunatics carrying most of the guns in the US?

Said Leyonhjelm on radio this morning: "What happened in that cafe would have been most unlikely to have occurred in Florida, Texas, or Vermont, or Alaska in America, or perhaps even Switzerland as well. Statistically speaking one or two of the victims [would have carried a gun]. That nutcase who held them all hostage wouldn't have known they were armed and bad guys don't like to be shot back at. It would have been illegal for them to have had a knife, a stick, a pepper spray, a personal taser, mace, anything like that for self-defence. I regard that [as] an absolute travesty. To turn an entire population into a nation of victims is just unforgivable in my estimation."
