You or me? If you're saying that you believe private individuals owning guns can save you from a govt whatever, then yes I agree with you.
Argument from incredulity. It's also makes it appear that you believe any fight which on the face of it appears to be a loosing fight is not worth fighting. History has demonstrated numerous times that such is not the case.
Bill, it's well known that 74.53% of the Aussie population have no need of a gun, but 123.675% DO need a drink These stats are bought to you by our government, whomever they are
Against criminal attack--the research was done by the US Government--no, it doesn't catalog individual attacks.
You take on the SAS with all of your guns and see how much you "loose" by !! Dead is dead by those vicious bastards
On an individual basis, of course! But your argument doesn't even begin to take into consideration the dynamic of an actual war between the people and a government gone tyrannical. The NAZIs had to bring in tanks and artillery to go against the malnourished, poorly armed residents of Warsaw. There are over 300-million firearms in the US, many of which are in the hands of former US military members. Add to them the current US military members who would defect to the side of the citizenry, and I'd say we's have a reasonable chance should the need ever arise. I pray such a need never will, but the mere presence of so many firearms in so many hands certainly makes any government bent upon the abuse of its own people think twice.
Further, at the moment I can only type with one had as my other is wrapped around my skull, trying to alleviate the massive tension headache I am currently experiencing, and trying not to hurl is currently more important that doing any sort of search. Sorry.
Show me proof of the 2 million defensive uses. And how come NONE of those stopped the now weekly school shootings? I seem to remember the latest Florida 'protector' turned heel and ran when confronted with a bigger gun? Bazookas for school doormen would be a great solution I'm sure! No time to do the research right now on my side (not home until later today) but perhaps you can look up the stats on your side - percentage of female domestic homicide victims killed by guns/knives/ fists/ other.
What it's time for in America is ******* control. For awhile in America, there has been waaaaay too much coddling of, recognition of and "protection" for wackos, misfits, non-contributors and "hey; look at me" types.
And therin lies another fundamental difference - Aussies are pretty comfortable we don't have to worry about "gubmint goin' bad". I think all your armchair Rambos are delusional...
There have been people with firearms who have stopped school shootings... though it's pretty difficult for the average, law abiding citizen to do so since he's barred from bringing weapons onto school grounds (they're "gun free zones").
If the government--made up of people--has no chance of going bad, why did Australia have to ban and confiscate so many firearms from its citizenry--made up of people--in order to ensure the safety of its people?
Interesting, you answered everyone else's question/statement...........................except mine...what if it were your kid/kids who were killed?
