Aug unemplyment figures were virtually unchanged from July; previous figures were revised DOWN. And if you look at the long term charts for both those metrics, they've been on an upward trend since around 2010. I'm busting to see who's going to take the credit / blame for when the Dow goes over the edge (which it must sooner or later)!

Most of the weatern world is actually on a bit of an upswing at present; the exuberance of the stock market isn't really supported by fundamentals so I'm not sure why the excitement? US trade gap with the rest of the world continues to grow; it's a great pity Australian farmers aren't in a position to take advantage of shifting trade factions due to the drought...
