yes. hate that stretch.... also got caught out 10 days ago on a stretch of gravel/boulder road near roundtop, had to get off and ended up in the middle of nowhere. made it home tho as you can see
so i have driven it nearly 1000 miles since i got it back in mid October. the first few hundred miles were ok, but a number of small issues needed fettling and adjusting. the last 500 miles or so have been fault free and i have been enjoying it immensely. today i was walking through the garage and noticed that i have a few more nasty stone chips - despite having the whole front clip xpelled.....i guess that goes with the territory. one of these days i suppose i will respray the front. but for the moment these will just have to be accepted as attestation to the car actually being driven. i havent washed it since october either, maybe i ought to do that tomorrow....
that was at about 630am 2 sundays ago the traffic is a problem, but now also the heat. was showing at keels and wheels last weekend and a show yesterday, and 95 deg and high humidity is not the F40's strong suit !
the front clip is wrapped, but had stone chips prior doing so. now have stone chips AFTER doing so. its driven, not stored.

Which one is your registration? The BaT F40 is featured in a picture. Only one with the Cavallino Rampante on the back. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
my UK reg (that you can see in my avatar) was H781 AAB and my car happens to be in 3 of the pics in that article. that was a great event. 60 f40's in one place and on the track together at the same time. it was so surreal !
I can only imagine! Most likely never to be reproduced or achieved again. As far as seeing your registration, I'll chalk that up to the problems with using Tapatalk for my Fchat browsing. Even when I click on your avatar the registration is all blurred and incoherent. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Legend. Enjoy! I went back to the article and found your car. They did feature it quite a few times. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I was also at the Silverstone classic that weekend showing my RS500 Cosworth as they were also celebrating 25 yrs at the time. It had been like a bog the weekend before for the F1 GP. The grass areas were still water logged everywhere. Loved how they lined up the F40s with a long piece of string, and moved each car until the front clip just touched it to get that perfect long line up.
took it to a big porsche event last weekend......caused a stir. one onlooker asked why i had brought this car, and i told him i had heard the crowd liked twin turbos...... anyway, even at a porsche event there were plenty of fans. i bet if ferrari wanted to pull one of those 'lost' vin number tricks like aston or jaguar and build another few F40's, they could sell them for $5 mil a piece.
With the rocks on Texas back roads I am hoping to have the paint pretty thoroughly blasted off the front of the 328 before I am done with it. I just think of it as patina.

for sure if ferrari built f40's and 50's they could sell lots of them, there is still a lot of demand for raw drivers cars
