Hello fellow Ferraristis, I've just bought this car. It's in UK & can some kind souls please help me to find out more about it? Chassis # 17967 Engine # F.102A000/00107 Bought it based on pictures & emails from a hardworking dealer whom I've not even met! Thanks in advance. Btw, has anyone fitted one of those travel case on the roof? I wanted to take it for holidays in continent but realised that it has limited space. OMG that is awesome!! Congratulations! AND, even better...it sounds like you plan on driving it!!! Bravo!!!
Thanks Marcel, you're the man as always! Interesting to note that this car was sold for £200925 in a 1989 UK auction. Chilling thoughts! Is it necessary to apply for the Ferrari Classiche certification?
Great and wonderful car. Congratulations. I have taken my 512 on many long trips. I remove the spare wheel. and tool bag etc. This leaves quite a bit of room for 2 small suite cases as well as flat items. They may get a little warm, but it carries enough for 2 people for a week.
Congratulations! As posted above, remove the spare and get a can of fix-a-flat and you'll be in good shape.
congratulations-i saw this advertised on pistonheads yesterday, sounds like a great car.hope you enjoy driving her.
I think I see the Fix a Flat... My tire crews HATE that stuff tho..... Congrats, that looks like a beautiful example.....
Yes, but often a dealer can send the photos and get it done without actually returning the car the the department.
Jon - it is absolutely not necessary to apply for certification, unless you want to run the car in a Ferrari-sanctioned event such as the Mille Miglia Tribute. I just want to congratulate you on a fantastic looking car, and it is only 10 digits of my own RHD Boxer (17977), which was completed 3 days after yours (7th of June, 1974)! The 365 Boxers are amazing. I wish you all the best. Onno
congratulations. i would go ahead and get the classiche done while its still sitting at dk. i dont agree with the whole concept, but in the end its their party so they make the rules, and one day when you want to sell it at auction you will be glad you did this now. and as pointed out, if you want to go on the mm tribute again, and this time with a pre-'83 car, you will need that done anyway. so just do it now.
Congrats on your purchase; a real red Ferrari that looks to be in fine form! Do the plates (BB 365!!!) come with the Boxer? Probably worth more than the car...almost. The English pay absurd money for 'special' lic plates. CH
Thanks mate. Were you the one who took it on the honeymoon? I have a habit of shopping so probably need more space but looks like it's not possible to fit a roof rack on it. Thanks. I heard that it came with 3 cans of those but once there's a tear, only a spare can help Yes indeed! Acted immediately on it. I've been hunting seriously since June for the correct car to come up. Thanks mate. Didn't know that the can approve with just photos. Was told that a new gearbox was replaced sometime ago with 512 parts, hope that will go well with them. Hey, don't you chew on her
Wow, 25yrs is like eternity over here! You must have clocked many memories with yours ^^ Hi Onno, yes. Wanted to enter this car for next year's MM but they need the cert for pre-80s cars. Thanks for the blessings & maybe I'll drive her to meet yours when I swing by UK! Haven't been to London since '98 but now I have a good reason Thanks Ross. Will get it done & hope I get lucky again with the tribute but I'll definitely drive her over to Switzerland in future. Btw, do you guys know how does a 6 piped 365 sound? Hi CH, yes! I negotiated the deal with this no. plate. It fits her just perfect & worth some money for sure but no idea how much @ the moment. Was told the plate is 31yrs old & will hit the jack-pot if it's worth half the car! haha Thanks mate. Was actually thinking of a Countach but the early 70s are out of reach while the nice QVs are rarely available now & they're probably not as civilised as the Boxer, besides I already have a DiabloSV so decide to put my money in a proper Ferrari.
think you've made the right choice-countach's are nice but a 365BB is a great car to drive and a true classic Ferrari.
Congratulations on that wonderful car! Cool that Marcel gave you some of the pedigree; what a resource. I 'sort of' remember when Boxers were seriously expensive in 88-89. They're a great value now, but not forever. A well-timed move. Super that you plan to drive it. The cars enjoy driving as much as you will.
Well bought, congratulations. She looks incredible. Here is one of her left hand drive cousins, one of the few in '76. (if you consider november 14 1975 close enough to be a '76, that is....) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mr. P., very sorry to say but #18745 was completed at the factory on the 14th November 1975, not 1976. Original exterior color: Rosso Rubino 106-R-83 Original interior color: Pelle Beige VM 3218 Assembly sequence #369 Scaglietti Body #375 Engine type F102 A, internal #00000378 Marcel Massini
