Still a way to go. I was more interested to see if they are basing registration price on number of cylinders.

If it were the case you could argue for example that your 308 ferrari is a smaller engine than the average family car, ie ford have the 4 litre and Holden the 3.6 litre.

    I lied ! .......... it's $967.70

Lets face it , S.E. Queensland needs more dams, more power stations , more everything ...........the simple thing to do is make life difficult for people by putting up costs , , interest rate rises should tip plenty over the edge and they will move on ................... problem solved (politician style).

This is why all my(enthusiast)driving cars are over 30 Years old....I pay about $170 for the right to drive
    anything older than 30.
The rules are such that you can doctor them to suit your needs, particularly if you carry them in your car.

Ok, that is high. What with that and rates, water, electricity etc how the average Joe Blow gets by God only knows. Its getting out of control. At some point the community is going to have to say enough is enough.

Is there are scale for number of cylinders Paul, or is it the same for everyone. Just got mine for the HSV which is a 6 litre V8, same as my other cars. Trailer was around $40.

    Registration Fee $ 183.30
    TAC $390.oo
    Insurance Duty $ 39.00

    Total $612.30

From memory is was around $593 last year.

    rego for 4 cars = $3500
    electricity for yr = $2000
    rates for year = $2900

    "voluntary taxes" (fines) = $400-600

my BIL got a nice one on Mt Coot-tha last Saturday, $333 for 72 in a 50 zone, a couple of those a year and the voluntary taxes start to get out of hand .... the motorist is just a cash cow to govts
