    I've seen a lot of this lately. America is gonna grow up to be a "team" of "pusses" if everyone keeps this up. Competition is needed to survive--Its natural. The new rules are probably due to the Parents taking the game too seriously as in the case above, more than being worried about hurting the kids feelings.

    That's right. And I'm sure if the situation was reversed, and it was Bill's team that successfully used that strategy, he'd be calling it good coaching. I'd tell Bill he needs to spend some time doing something worthwhile--go serve food at a soup kitchen or something. Then maybe he'll stop whining about unimportant **** like high school softball games.

    Whatever; it's a sad commentary on parents living their lousy lives through their children. The kids don't really care but the parents do!

    Sadly we're already there.

    They won, fair and square. If there are no pitches to swing at, why swing?

    In softball, if a pitcher sucks and you have no backups you bring in any other fielding player.
