Drove the circuit yesterday. The Strip has some work done to it but not much. Some light poles but no barriers or fences yet. No lights or generators yet. Most of the work has been done off Strip. The stands on Harmon and the Paddock area are up. The course around the Sphere is laid out but no stands yet. Bellagio stands are mostly up but not finished inside.

Not nearly as much belly aching this year but it’s also a lot less intrusive. Digging up the Strip and enlarging Koval last year was really bad for 6 months.

I couldn’t imagine having that much money to piss away.

I could probably run a season of spec Miata for that price!!!

I love F1 but I think I’m officially priced out :( Only way I’m going to the races now is if I get a set of boobs and an OnlyFans account :D

Even if I was given free tickets for the Vegas GP I would not go to that **** show. I'll go to Spa or Monza and it would probably be cheaper. I don't even care to watch it on TV.

I was at the inaugural Vegas F1 and the Mayor was there too. It was awesome good time. It is so easy and close at a venue that is an adult playground. I'm sure it will be better in year 2. I don't understand the hate for Vegas F1. Even the workers were loving the high pay and 4 day party. It is the happiest I've seen a mass of people since the lockdowns of covid.

Watching last year race on TV, I didn't find the Las Vegas circuit challenging, nor the race very interesting.
It's certainly a different scene than the GPs we have here in Europe, but what to expect from a street race ? .
But if some people were satisfied and enjoyed from all the frills around it, good for them.
I have attended many GP (in Europe) from the 60s to the turn of this century, and I always been only interested in the quality of the racing.
Maybe a different audience is looking for someone else; it's all good.

F1 opens up brand new source of income: A DRS zone now has a sponsor

Duracell’s iconic copper & black colours will be prominently displayed throughout the DRS zone at Las Vegas. To bring the collaboration to life, gantry LED animated boards, trackside signage, and unique rooftop branding on the DRS Zone will be displayed around the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. During the 2023 event, three DRS zones were on the Las Vegas street circuit. The track will return to the calendar in November and starts the final triple-header of the season.

    New sponsorship for Formula 1

"Partnering with Duracell showcases the ultimate intersection of innovation and power. This first-of-its-kind collaboration reflects our dedication to delivering cutting-edge, high-performance experiences throughout our circuit," said Brendan Dolby, Vice President of Commercial Partnerships for F1's Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Duracell and Williams have worked together in recent years, with an image of the battery on Williams' cars. But this will also go a step further during the third race in America in 2024. Williams Racing will turn the DRS flaps on both Alex Albon's and Franco Colapinto's FW46 rear wings into a Duracell battery as well as changing the colour of the DRS button on the steering wheels to the iconic Duracell copper.

James Bower, Commercial Director, Williams Racing said: “Duracell is helping to power Williams Racing’s transformation in pursuit of future championship success and the partnership exemplifies our commitment to innovative and effective activations. We’re proud to support Duracell in its collaboration with the Las Vegas Grand Prix with a take-over of the DRS flap, giving the team a PowerBoost every time the drivers press the iconic copper button.”

These photos were Saturday. I walked the course on the Strip and took the Monorail to see the off Strip.

What's interesting is there is no construction going on over the weekends. Last year it was 7 days a week. So its going much quicker and easier this year.

The biggest thing this year is how much less intrusive construction has been. The MGM suites at Bellagio are already finished in about a month. Traffic in front is close to normal although one lane is still shut. But to be honest its a rare day when some part of the Strip is closed off for something. The stands went up a lot faster. With the Mirage no longer having stands as its under construction for Hard Rock several thousand less on the Strip are available. The street lights on most of the Strip are already up and generators are showing up. They still need to be wired.

The temp bridge is finished without too much complaining this year. The only stands that I see that are not finished are around The Sphere which still needs a lot of work. But its all off Strip and not on City streets so no one will even know.

The biggest issue still remaining is the putting up of the course barriers. I'm guessing they will wait until about a week before to do that.

In general there's a lot less belly aching locally this year than last but not everyone is happy. My hope is that the weather we are having now holds out. Its beautiful. Last year was cold and even could have rained which would have been a disaster for spectators.

Wynn Resorts going all in on F1 VIP's

Wynn Resorts not singing F1 blues, offering $1,700 rooms and a $45K luxury package

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/wynn-resorts-not-singing-f1-blues-offering-1-700-rooms-and-a-45k-luxury-package/ar-AA1tvU0p

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — All this talk about plunging F1 ticket prices might be concerning — unless you’re Wynn Las Vegas, where room rates are $1,700 a night during the Nov. 21-23 event.

After all, Wynn is about luxury and there’s just really not much of an economic pinch on that crowd, executives indicated as the company reported its third-quarter earnings on Monday.

“In Vegas, the high-end consumer — our consumer — continues to hold up,” Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings said. He looked ahead to what Wynn Resorts is expecting around race weekend.

“Q4 and F1 is actually shaping up quite nicely for us. You can look at our room rates — our posted, published room rates relative to our competitors — and you can see that we’re pricing at a very significant premium to the rest of the Strip,” he said.

If $1,700 isn’t out of your price range, you can think about the $7,500 Grand Fan Package (starting price), which includes a three-night stay and two Grandstand tickets. Still listening? How about the F1 Paddock Club package, starting at $45,000?

Wynn’s properties, including Las Vegas, Wynn Macau and Encore Boston Harbor, posted third-quarter earnings of $527.7 million on $1.69 billion in revenue, according to the company’s news release. That’s down about $2.7 million from the third quarter of 2023.

Honestly this was to plan. They announced over several months ago there would be low priced GA and individual day tickets. .We didn't know the pricing until yesterday.

This is out front of the Venetian today. They built a temporary structure that's at least twice as big and twice as tall as last year --- all for THREE DAYS.

The stands and roadway by The Sphere are finished. They need to still put up the TV screens, the concert venue, and the food pavilion. But they are way ahead of schedule from last year and started way later to do the construction.

Walked the Strip yesterday. The catch fences are up on most of the Strip. This year they had different covering for the pedestrian bridges that are better looking and more secure. Looks like steel but its plastic. Can't peal off the plastic cover. Bellagio suites look finished but the Award stand is not up yet.

The 3rd pic is the corner of Harmon and The Strip. This was the big passing area last year.

The stands around the Sphere and the track around the Sphere are complete. Looks like they still have to build the concert stage and all the food locations. Missing the pedestrian bridges over the track as well. But with a week to go, everything looks under control. Much better than last year.

$999 for three day pass at The Sphere zone, unlimited food and soft drinks included. There's a Ferrari Challenge race event also this year.

$399 for race day only. I don't think that's too expensive. If you get a Strip hotel you can just walk to the event.

Temps should be in the lower 50's for this week. No chance of rain so far. But it is cool so bring a jacket and a hat.

Download the Las Vegas GP app and search for tickets.
