G'Day All I recently upgraded my front parking lights to LEDs which I have to say look great. However I have now been trying to find out what type of lights to use to upgrade my rear tail lights on my 360 Spider. The current info posted is very sketchy where some have done it and are now trying to sell it as some sort of incredible kit (very expensive) kits while others have done it and only posted vague details of what particular LED or HID lights were used !?!? As far as I can see it should just be a matter of replacing the old globe with an appropriate LED/HID!? Anyone who has looked into this has discovered the myriad of LED and HID options that could be 'potentially used'. I know they are cheap and I could order a half a dozen different types and, through a process of elimination, find what are the most suitable options. But as with so many wonderful posts (and posts I have done in the past) I'm hoping to find someone who has done the hard yards yet is proud enough of his/her achievements to post just 'exactly what globes they did use in the end. Yeah I’ve seen this but really, as much as I might like to buy one I just can’t justify the $USD 1,500 for 6 lights and a bit of wiring harness. Why do you need a harness at all? It should just be 6 LEDs or HIDs of appropriate size. It’s not as if they are rare. Every modern car today uses them. It would be ok at a couple of hundred tops ! I saw one post where someone was trying to sell his new never used kit fir $USD 800. Not sure if he had any takers. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I did it on my 308.....it was as easy as buying a replacement globe of the same type, as bright as possible and in the same colour as the lens it's going in. However, I think a 360 has the intelligence to read when there's a blown globe, in which case you need to find OBD friendly globes....but otherwise, it's simples!
Yes Good point I had read about that although many light suppliers advertise their lights as ‘no error LEDs’ presumably avoiding this problem. Must find out if the 360 had this feature. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Leave me alone. I’ve been working bloody hard this week. I can’t wait to be like Gary and sit back doing nothing while the jet (or, in his case, the work experience kid) does all the work. Only eight shifts to go... (not that I’m counting)... Anyway, re the lights, I quite like those LED packages. Might get one for the 355 next year.
Baahaha yes I have had so much valuable insight already Sent from my SM-N915G using FerrariChat.com mobile app
To be fair I’ve given you an expensive option and Peter has given you a tight-arse option. What more do you want?
The high end kit is good no doubt but $$ are off the planet. I had hoped for some more specific globe details. Something I can actually look up an buy on eBay from someone who may have ready bought some and happy with the outcome. But I guess not many have done the upgrade on a 360. I may just sit down with a good bottle of single malt, drink half of it and order one of those fancy insanely expensive kits. Ill see how I feel after Christmas Sent from my SM-N915G using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Now you’re making sense. You have a Ferrari. Ok, it’s the peasants Ferrari, but still.... Buy the kit and enjoy it, or keep going to Supercheap Auto, or buy a Golf. Oh, hang on....,
