Bear in mind he is still growing & developing!

A lot of buzz about him in the UK, highly-regarded, said to be the "complete package".

Just watched the Spence vs Brook fight.
I guess i'll comment a little later, not everyone has watched it I'm guessing.

it was not that interesting, and Spence is not a real champion quality boxer. There was a few spots where I thought the ref could have asked the doctor to look at that eye, but some real sloppy punches from both.

I very much agree. Neither fighter was clean regardless of the technique they were employing. That could have been because the other was so mindful of the other's ability to punch though, either way it wasn't a great fight and neither really walked away from the other. Not a convincing win, but still a win. By comparison think about what GGG did to that guy, now that was a win.

So true. What I would say is that Spence was very poised and in control. Didn't get rattled by the partisan crowd either. It's ironic that another eye injury (opposit side) was Brook's Achilles heel if you will. You're right about Golovkin. His dominance is clear and oftentimes under appreciated.

All of the above! I wasn't too impressed with Spence. He will probably make a good Champion, but this performance was not impressive.
I am/was a Brook fan, But after the great effort he showed with GGG, and the damage he took from that fight, he seems to be a changed man. He has a tough road ahead of him. 2 losses and 2 damaged eyes.

I watched the fight and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be either, considering how good both fighters are.

Spence Jr was in control the entire fight but he wasn't as sharp as he normally is. Perhaps nerves being his first world title fight, I don't know.

Spence Jr is very very good, but even he didn't rate himself in this fight from an interview I saw after the fight lol.

I have watched his last few fights and this wasn't his best performance winning this IBF title over the weekend, but I still think he has what it takes to be one of the best Welterweights in the world.

He is a world champion now, so hopefully we will see some big fights from him coming right up.

Thurman, Garcia, Bradley, Kahn, Porter, Pacman etc. etc. Plenty of fights there if he wants them.

I will admit, I do not recall seeing many Spence fights, so you may be right, but from this performance I am not impressed.

Form fell apart for both fighters, a lot of strikes coming on the inside of the wrist, proof of which is the two stoppages that the ref called to re-tape Brook's wrists.

I watched it again to see if Brook presented the left eye to defend the right eye and did not see any real evidence of it. Lots of leaning in, but not to make that eye a real target.

Hometown crowd, and being the champ, Brook got a lot of time from the ref when he bundled up with no response to the flurry from Spence. It happened a few times.

Brook should be sidelined quite awhile before entertaining another fight. He's talking about moving up to 154 but he'll have his problems there as well. I think Lara, Andrade or Charlo would all give him a world of trouble. When he's ready he should fight Kahn and give the U.K. fans a treat. Kahn has the glass chin and Brook the fragile eye sockets. Could be interesting.

    +1

I would enjoy watching that fight. :D

In regards to Charlo, NO ONE beats him at 154! :D

    Jermell Charlo that is!

Did anyone see him KO Hatley in late April to defend his WBC title?

Hmm, not a much as Ray Leonard, who incidentally has some amazing boxing stories of other legendary champions from his era.

But tonight boxing wasn't on the agenda, a night out with the wives was.

I have, and he has a good memory, he recalls sending the signed glove to you for your buddy Les "Lock n Load" Sherrington

Past boxing championships aside, he is a humble and classy gentleman, very inspiring to be around in terms of family, personal fitness and business, I appreciate our friendship
