Anyone giving Ruiz a chance? Surprised about the Wilder-Fury rematch. Dream fight is Wilder-Joshua but still just a dream.
I think Ruiz is in with a punchers chance just like any heavyweight. But.............I still think AJ will take him to school. I don't think AJ will KO him. He is a smaller man, so it won't make for a great fight IMO. I think AJ will stick behind the jab and take the win easily on points in 12. And good news in regards to the Wilder-Fury rematch. It should have happened straight after their draw IMO. Looking forward to seeing Fury beat him again. I hope you enjoy the AJ fight man. I will be at work, so will have to catch the replay when I get home.
Always a chance, but AJ to win his first US fight. As for Wilder....dreams can come true. Remember how long we waited for Floyd and Manny to get it on?
I feel Klitschko ruined AJ. Ever since that fight AJ hasn't been the same. So, Yes, Any Heavyweight has a punchers chance. That being said, Is tonight Ruiz's night? That, I don't think so.
I agree mate, puncher's chance for Ruiz. His record is pretty good. Joshua's first fight in the US, been a long time coming. I'll watch it on DAZN, too bad you'll be at work. I agree with your point regarding the Fury rematch, assuming they both win their next fights. Just thought maybe Wilder would fight that New York Polish boxer.
You guys were right! Round 3 round of the year so far. Joshua looked out of sorts after his second knockdown. Maybe he was looking ahead, maybe taking Ruiz on short notice after Miller got popped was a mistake. My hope for Joshua-Wilder goes up in a cloud of smoke. Biggest HW upset since Douglas-Tyson. Stoked to see a sold out MSG arena. GGG up next!
Any opponent is always a chance as we saw today. Well done Ruiz. One for the boxing acrhives….Joshua vs Ruiz round 3. What a round!!!! Nothing else to say, just watch it over and over again.
Wow! And there you have it! Hopefully AJ comes back better than before because I still believe he has some unfinished business in the HW division. And congrats to Ruiz. He beat Parker a few years ago but didn't get the decision to win the WBO title he holds now. So there is a little redemption for him if anything!! Looking forward to the rematch, hopefully it's a beauty.
I just watched the replay of the fight. Man o man!! AJ didn't have any interest in bringing a fight to Ruiz at all. Only threw half the punches each around as he would normally throw. I think I have only watched one or two fights of AJ's where didn't seem interested, he won............but it wasn't a very good fight. A very off night for the big man, Ruiz definitely deserved that victory. I just hope AJ comes back better than before otherwise his career might already be over before it really started.
Shocking outcome. Ruiz shows us all you can't judge a book by its cover. He only has one loss (against Parker) and IMO he was robbed in that one. Can't wait to see what he does to Wilder
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, nah. Good to see he called Canelo out for a 3rd fight. GGG showed some good body and head movement in the first round, obviously been working on that with the new trainer instead of the old GGG just walking down/straight into his opponent. But, he slowly slackened off and stopped moving. He will need to keep working on that throughout the entire fight if he wants to help his chances at beating Canelo in their 3rd fight if it ever happens.
Agreed. Good fight by GGG but he needs to step up against Canelo. I saw his neck snap back a few times taking direct punches. That wouldnt have happened 2-3 years ago.
Fury was a beast. Striking on point even switched to southpawn. 2020 cant come soon enough to rematch Wilder.
