They both look a bit pricey, but I haven't checked the market for a while. I test drove a new one back to back with a new 355 at the time - had a lot more torque, but seemed very rattly compared with the Ferrari. The S4s is a much better drive. I have a mate who generally knows where all the bodies are buried. PM me if you like.

Being an import doesn't really bother me. Just dont know much about the V8 engine and how good they are

All I know is that even paul the lotus guru mechanic says if you buy a V8, take the engine out and put a Lexus V8 in it

I’d love an S4S, or an SE.

That or an early S1 or S2 would be very cool.

Its a Renault 25 gearbox from memory, a manufacturer well known for excellence in engineering.

Or am I confusing Esprit with Europa?

No, still Renault. Modified a bit over the years, and again for the V8, but still, like a Porsche 911, a fundamentally flawed design, overengineered to operate at 225% of it's optimum design capability. The difference being German vs French engineers. :D

Edit: Actually, I don't think that there was ever much engineering in the Renault box

The V8 isnt the problem, it is the Renault box as mentionend above ^^^.
