Trying to find some locking valve stem covers. In the past mine have gotten stolen almost every time I drive the car; now I can't find a place to buy them besides ebay.

    Any ideas? Direction?

Get yourself some Fiero valve stem caps and people will stop stealing them.

Someone in this thread said they have some that just spin when you try to turn them, but they won't come off.
    Ask him...

I bought mine at my local Ferrari dealer for about $30 a set. They came in yellow or red and included 2 unlocking tools.

Hey Dave, thanks for the advice.....

Yes I have a replica, and your point is? I am a subscribed member to this site, (are you? just wondering) and I was looking for a 308 GTS (read all my previous posts) but then realized I would have to be selling all my toys just for one toy. Not due to the price of the car; but do to the price of maintenance. It's just not a good cost ratio for me to be putting thousands of dollars into one item when I have 4 other items/toys to worry about.

BTW, I also have a Porsche 944S2, Porsche Boxster, Ducati 748 and a Wellcraft Scarab Powerboat. Believe me, these keep me busy enough with maintenance especially the Scarab.

(Getting Off Soapbox, sorry) Now back on topic, I had all covers for both my 944 and 986 Porsche as well as my daily driver Nissan and they all got stolen. Now I want Ferrari ones but it seems like Ferrari enforced the copyright thing even on the stemcaps.

Any constructive help would be great.

No offense but a replica is not a Ferrari. I has 2 Ferrari in the past as well as 2 replica. It's not a Ferrari, trust me. Also, in order to afford a 308 GTS you only have to sell 1 toy. A Porsche 944 is high maintance too and tell me about boats!

None taken. I know it's not a Ferrari. It's a look alike clone, good for shock value and picking up girls (my main reason to buy it as I am one ugly man) :) Plus I only paid 6K for it, will put about 2-3K into it, and sell if for 10-12K easy......

And ditto on the 944 and boat. Actually the boxster has been more problematic then the 944. Thank God I bought it certified or I would have been out $$$$.

The 944's been good to me, only 35,000 miles, (knock on wood) but the boat.....argh! Getting a new outdrive, top rebuild and bottom respray this spring.....see ya $15,000. But it's a Scarab......:)

ProAm in Houstion sells the repros, I use them on my racing karts..

As mentioned, The dealership FoH may can help you with the locking ones. The factory lawyers shut Griot's and others down, for infingement.......

Something YOU may want to think about.......

That guy in Europe knocking out 250GTOs ended up.......................dead.

Those are what I have. You need a special tool that comes with the valve stems to remove.

Why antagonize someone bent on stealing valve stem caps? Either make them easy to remove and steal and save your car from far more expensive vandalism or get a bag of plain black caps from Walmart and stop worrying about it.

Then go for a nice long drive. Ferrari or no Ferrari.

Your local Ferrari dealer should have them. I got a set at Ferrari of Atlanta awhile back.

We just used a pair of pliers to put them on real tight so that no one could take them off with their hands. This seemed to solve the problem.

These two statements don't quite seem to add up. I'm not usually one to jump on the bandwagon or one to bust anyones balls about kit-cars but your logic just doesn't add up to me. You don't mind spending lot's of money on the boat because "it's a Scarab" but you don't mind driving a replica Ferrari.

What makes the Scarab worth the money to maintain while a Ferrari wouldn't be??

I don't really care either way, you can drive or ride whatever you want, just don't get defensive about it or give anyone here a hard time for driving the real thing!

By the way check out E-bay for the caps.
