Hope I'm not too late. I bought a new Tubi for an '85 US 308 QV from Eurospares about four months ago.

I have the Larini Test pipe / Tubi exhaust , I am happy with the set up. I have also heard Capristo, on 328 / 308 , I dont think the sound mates with the car, sounds like its trying to be like a F355

    Thank you

    www.eurospares.co.uk , their 308 Tubi page is https://www.eurospares.co.uk/tubi-exhausts/1?ModelName=308%20/%20328

I bought the Tubi Euro headers and standard muffler (as opposed to the louder Race version) from T Rutlands in 2016 (www.trutlands.com). You'll have to phone them to see if they're still selling them, but at the time they were significantly less expensive than any other reseller.

Nouvalari also makes a well regarded muffler for the 308s - https://www.nouvalari.com/exhausts_catalogue.php?page=3 Their web site seems a bit broken, so you'd have to call them as well. Do a search on this forum for Nouvalari exhaust and you'll find good comments.

    Cheers,
    Gordon

For those that may be looking for "louder" for the first time, I think it's useful to consider how you will be using the car. I drove my 328 across the USA twice and about 2/3's across it two other times (so far) and even the stock exhaust is too loud for me over long periods in the car. I used earplugs for those drives.

OTOH, on a Sunday drive to the coffee shop/local store/whatever, a Tubi (or similar) would be fun to have. But I couldn't deal with it for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. ;)

Excellent point, Mike, and I fully agree. Being honest, the Tubi standard muffler is too loud (I can't imagine what the Race would be like!). I wear earplugs 100% of the time when I might be going over 50 mph for longer than 10 min or so.

A question for those running test pipes; do you notice a bad exhaust smell?

Yes it smells some what so I usually leave the garage door and side door open for awhile after I park my 308. But it's not as bad as my 67 Fiat Dino 2.0 V6 with the 3 weber carbs.

I had custom made exhaust tip extenders to help with the bad smell , especially with the top off. I run 101 octane in my 328 , I noticed that the bad smell was not as bad. I think that the motor running less hot from eliminating the cat out weighs the smell. I used to leave my engine lid up after a drive because the motor compartment was so hot, now I still leave the lid up, but you can really tell the difference in how much cooler the engine compartment is.

    Thank you

This is what it sounds like with a Tubi and resonated test pipe on my 85 QV. I don't think I even got to 6000 rpm on this run.
