Anyone know of the lowest mileage 308 in the country?
I had heard rumor of a sub 4000 mile car in PA. That was many years ago and have no idea how to validate it. Good to see you active. I hope the project is going well.
Watkins Glen research center raffled off a 308 couple years ago that had less than 1500 miles. I saw it at Ferrari of Atlanta after the raffle. http://www.examiner.com/article/watkins-glen-racing-research-center-raffling-ferrari-308-gtsi Here's a thread on it: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=415748 And another: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=413837
I know you said 308 but thought I'd chime in that there has been a 328 floating around with 64 original miles on it.
I looked at an 85 gtsi that rpm had for sale 2 or 3 years ago that had just turned 5,000 miles and it was documented original.
Palo Alto Speedo might go with the funniest title for a post this season. Look in the Boxer section and you'll find it ...
There is a trailer queen 'glass car on the East Coast. It only roll soff the trailer, then back on. Dr. Barry would know the mileage, I believe it's below 5K miles. There are LOTS of stored "last year" 328s, but this cocconed 'glass car would be the lowest 308GTB
There is an early glass GTB in Ct that I inquired about back in 2011 and at that time it had 2500 original miles.
What was the minimum anyone could have on one even back in the day when they were new. Didn't Ferrari used to shake all of them down for 100+ miles on "prova" runs before they were done with building them? Seems like every single one would have 3 digits already rolled over when they were on the showroom floor.
Ward, my car is the basic red on black. Here it is with temporary wheels just before I put the originals back on. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have an 85 GTS with 5600 original miles. I can't remember seeing a QV with lower(original) mileage. It wouldn't shock me to see one pop up at some point though
https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-226714/0/1979-Ferrari-308-GTS/5-Speed/ This one has 1900 miles and will be auctioned this weekend. Should be interesting to see how much it fetches
It is interesting to see that extremely low mileage 308s exist. I had heard about 328s being put away when Enzo died, but, until this thread, hadn't heard of any extremely low mileage 308s. Beautiful museum pieces. Its almost like we can call them NOS; New Old Stock.
