It appears to be an LP400 with temporary wheels fitted.

To me it looks as if the wheel openings are bigger than on a normal LP400. As if it's waiting for the the aluminium "Wolf" wing widerners.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if it's my old #1120022.

Good point, I think these images are circa 1980.

For height yes, I just love the look and feel of the Lowbody. At 5”11 190lbs, fits to perfection.

    VERY true.
    However, sacrificing style started before...
Anyway, LP400S1 and S2 come as close to the original as possible with added wide wheel arches.

I believe this image shows 1121116 & 1121018 brought by Eugene Carrier to an Invitational Premier showing of Cannonball Run in Canada sometime in 1981, historic Countach images rarely come better than this

I hear you but to me the Periscopa was a sacrifice in itself due to available tire technology . The LP400S1 is the ultimate to me but everyone has their own opinion of course and I respect yours.

My thoughts exactly when I first saw that image, I thought it belonged here.

I think it’s interesting to see the enthusiasm for the Countach being the Cannonball Run “car star” in period. Something I would think to be true but here’s real proof. Very nice .

But driving this or any other Countach in Tokyo must not be fun......

    Great picture!
The missing wing on the silver countach makes me wonder if it's not 1121116. Here's 1121116 in an episode of the TV series Hunter back in the 80s.

There is a video of 1121116 in Canada with no wing and someone posted images of it years ago in the Countach thread with no wing, I think the wing was added in the early days.

Love to see the video and picture, all these years I've not seen either. How do you know it was 1121116? My records show nothing about Canada.

Entirely possible, I'll have to check my notes from almost 20 years ago.

Here is a pic of the Silver S2 1121252 prior to restoration showing wing. Of course it could have been added at some point.

Thanks for that, I have a feeling it's not this car.

My pleasure Joe. It’s amazing that this super rare Lowbody was just a pawn shop item at that time. Really goes to show the awareness that has happened since and continues to gain momentum.

Seeing a Countach in person is always jaw dropping, pictures rarely capture it at the same level. However, a few pictures come very close. Image Unavailable, Please Login
