Hello people from Malaysia! I'm a SG car photographer looking for a 458 Italia to do a night shoot. Tried looking for local cars, but most are too busy or not interested.

If anyone of you guys willing to travel to SG to shoot do contact me at 9685 893five.

Put some sample of my night shots here:

Hello boys, someone in Cali contacted me on food in Malaysia so here's some pics to wet your appetite today ;)

Found it by chance in the old town part of Klang & first time that I tried the "dry Bak kut teh" stewed to perfection in claypot. Full flavour & very tender pork on the bottom left while the other pot is the regular style in soup.

Now, I've tried several famous places in Kepong, Kelana Jaya, KL city, Pulau Penang & of course Singapore's which is a tad different. Singapore's BKT is served in simpler concoction of either the pepper style or the dark-sauce type. To be honest I don't really like the KL style with too much mixed into the soup as I find that it taints the quality of the "teh" in the soup but it's personal taste.

The dried one in Klang below is something different. Highly recommended!

A picture of the typical Chinese run coffeeshop serving the food & that pot of hot kettle is ever ready for your Chinese tea's replenish of hot water.

So, I've picked up the 328GTS & spent about Rm14K on her since :( all bushes changed, belts, water pump, bearings, fluids, plugs, cables, coils, filters etc & will need to take her for a good run down. Still with stock exhaust. The interior seats & door panels are wrong colour/material so those will have to re-do later & will probably repaint her as well but let's enjoy some wind in the mean time ^^

Not a fast car even after all the work done or they're probably slow by today :p She revs fine up to red-line so might have to tweak somewhere.

Here's some crap pics from hp.

well have you not heard of Mungo Jerry near Chow Kit? haha! that's heaven on earth after a Friday or Saturday night ;-)......they call it "Pokari" which is Maglish for "Pork Curry"......but it's actually dried bak ku teh..... anyway, i haven't been to Klang more than thrice in my life, so haven't had the chance to have prob the best BKT in the world, or at least what they claim it to be!!! another good place i feel is actually in Subang Jaya...there is a row of shops opposite McDonald's next to Taylors..(near bulatan Kewajipan)...SS18 is it? not so sure....the dried BKT is pretty good there as well......coming from Ipoh, BKT isn't the top stuff around, so didn't grow up eating it...but as i said Munggo Jerry has piqued my tongue a little since......

car looks mint mate.....even from the "crappy phone"!!! i like the pop-up headlights shut though for the pre 348s......(prefer the "droopy eye" effect!) but the 328 is one good looking machine. and of course you won't find it fast....you have a couple of beasts in your stable...not very fair to compare what fast is to you with the 328!!!..... you still with the CS Jon?

Ipoh wife said there's a Mungo Jerry in SS2 but finds it so-so. Will have to check it out!

Haha a bit deceiving mate. Paint looks good after polish but you can see its repainted too many times while lacquer is uneven at certain areas, I learnt car painting in student days so am very critical when it comes to this. I don't know why but this car brings a lot of smile for me and always find myself looking back after parking you get what I mean ;) its not fast and a bit clumsy, a bit old but the Pininfarina lines are so beautiful. I wouldn't even look twice on a 430 or my old CS.

Speaking of which I've sold the CS to a buddy and sharing with him. That car is not enjoyable in Singapore, it needs unlimited roads n speed in Malaysia to be enjoyed.

well the one in SS2 was never as good as the one in the city....i'v been to the one in SS2 once....i think i was a little too sober perhaps!!! haha........ the "pokari" and "chilli chiken" from the Munggo Jerry in the city is just out of this world....ok i have prob over exaggerated things a little too much but please do go try these two dishes!!!

i think the modern F-cars got a little too big and lost the lines a tad little.... i know what you mean about turning around to take a look (more than once most of the times :)...
just a thought i need to get from you having CS experience.....do you think the CS market will ever make it a collectible in any sense one day in this region? was it as uncomfy as what they make it sound?

Ok mate we go down n try soon :) btw, what are the famous dishes in Ipoh & where would you recommend?

The CS is not that bad but I'm a little hardcore & use it daily. It's the transmission which gets jerky if you drive in city traffic then made worse by a bouncy hard ride so better not have a full meal or you'll feel nausea :p
The car needs lots of space & freedom to exploit. Eg. When in KL & I leave office late, I could pull it to red line in every gear which easily hits 120 on 2nd & she loves to rev plus a screaming exhaust, it makes a very satisfying experience. I even took it on a B road trip from KL to Penang & back with a thread. Cruising at 250 to Kuantan & back in half a day including some shoppinh for dried seafood :D The boot space is pretty good!

This is not possible in Singapore due to our speed limit & jealous public. So the car is not enjoyable there as one can only use just 30-50% of it's potential.

On the investment potential, I would think it is highly collectible. Only 1000+ made with couple of hundred RHD. Its also one of the lightest modern street car not to be repeated again. Something like a modern 2.7RS maybe & I wouldn't mind buying another later on.

well where do we start!!! lol...Leech Street (Jalan Bandar Timah) in old town is one of the most famous places around for breakfast and stuff.....well if you're into DimSum, then there are loads of places to go to actually all over the town... I personally think the best DimSum I have had anywhere is from Ipoh!!! there is a nicer DimSum shop in Ipoh Gdn South called Hong Kong DimSum which is little known about and they serve some mean stuff......i am just thinking of some places off hand now....bear with me!.....oh yeah there's great ikan bakar at the "kopitim" behind Tesco /Kinta City.....there are about 2-3 different ikan bakar stalls selling it but you got to go find that one Chinese uncle/aunty combo in that long stretch of hawkers right in the middle....it's only at night though......then oh yeah....the Big Tree place in Pasir Pinji truely has the best fishballs, fishcakes(yong taufoo) and the best fried sengkuang in the world!!! ahahah.......it's on King's Street (Jalan King)....... my favourite curry mee is called Let's Rock curry mee.....they started as a tiny stall and are now this huge ass 2-3 shoplots restaurant only serving currymee and fish head curry..only open after 5pm-10pm (Jalan Raja Ekram).......well you should cover these first then i'll update you on more!!! plus there are loads of blogs on ipoh's food for guidance.....

thanks for your input on it...really appreciate it....i have been doing some research on it....actually they made 1288 of the CS.....it's truly a remarkable car.....however many say, for all the drama it makes and comfort one looses on it, might as well get a 430 which offers similar performance with more refinement......but the 430s are a dime a dozen......so i guess it boils down to what one wants!!!

ps: did you go through your bin??!!! found the 348 parts lying around!!! ;-)

348? Oh yeah. Think I saw the original brake disc/calipers lying around if it's for that car :p

Now the CS is a different class of animal. It's the purity, the Zen-ness of it. No multi-functions magnettino to worry about & other crap. Mine doesn't even have the radio so that's probably 15kg lighter (including speakers & wiring). You can feel a car @ work when it's light so it brakes better, corners sharper & accelerates quicker too. The handling is fantastic though to be honest I like my 997GT3RS.2 better :D

I had the 430 briefly but don't miss it. Let's visit the CS again in 10years time & you'll see but in fact right now, the UK prices for 360CS is 20% higher than early 430 coupes so that says something.

The problem is finding a clean history 360CS as many buang! Last I heard one was transacted @ Naza for Rm700K, not exactly low.

yes the 348!!! ;-) (should i wink more or is this gay enough!!)??!! ahahah....still waiting for the upgraded ECU chips you said might be still lying around your garage......instead of them taking up space and rotting away, i'll make them live again!! i don't even mind driving down to Spore to collect them....my car needs a long drive and this might be a good reason!

well the prices of scuds here have dropped....they're in the RM800s (high RM700s) so that has brought down the price of everything else in tandem!!!(including the CS) do you opine the same with the scuds as being collectible?
and you're right with the UK (and in fact american) pricing of the CS....it has stabilised for the last 2 years or so.....

Brave man mate! I didn't even dared to drive my freshly serviced 328 to Singapore recently.

Has the Scud dropped so much? Well perhaps so now that 458 is getting old & cheaper as well but again the Scud was never made in limited nos so my dollar is still on the CS but in our area of overtaxed cars I think everything will depreciate till it's 10-15yrs old before stabilising

    Hi guys,

Would just like to check. My uncle lived in London for more than 40 years. Now that he's retired, he's looking to come back here, and also purchasing a car from there to be used here.

My question is, is he entitled for an AP? From what I know he is. I would sincerely appreciate it if someone can shed some light into this.

    Thanks!

Bro, only he will know by calling the customs department! You can help him with his personal details like ic/passport no etc. What passport is he holding etc.

My Malaysian friends who are returning under the "Return Talent" program gets a free Ap &/or a tax-free local assembled car per person.

If he's a foreign passport holder & applying under MM2H then he is entitled to one.
