Looking to buy a Ferrari and need advice. Should I get a 2003 360 Modena or a or a 2002 575M ? Should I get F1 trans or Stick? Is the 575 as much fun and or satisfying ? Both about same price.

Do you want a sportier more nimble car that is not as comfy on longer trips or a heavier, less tossable (but still VERY fast) more comfortable car? The 6 speed vs. F1 is completely subjective and has been debated here many times in prior threads. You have to...I repeat, HAVE TO drive both and make your own decision. Good luck as they are both awesome cars!!

I had to make the same decision this spring. For me I wanted a lot of power so I pulled the trigger on the Italian viper. The 550/575 are VERY fast and powerful but you cant enjoy them in turns as well as the 360. It really depends on the kind of driving you enjoy. And trust me you can get them to "scream" stay tuned for some upgrades we are coming out with for them.

If you like to drive, get a 575M stick with Fiorano pkg. The car is a great long distance ride but on curves it is also great. I am looking for a 360 spider as a second f-car and have driven six spiders and coupes. They have a different feel but, except for the CS, I was rather disappointed.

Like robert_c said, in another thread you mentioned that you just purchased a 355.

Why do you want to buy another Ferrari so soon after your purchase? Is there something in the 355 that didn't meet your expectations?

I am sure I am not the only one to own or want more than one Ferrari. I have not had one for a long time and forgot how much I enjoyed playing with them.

What kind of use do you want to have out of the car? Daily driving/road trips or weekend blasts and some track time? This is what will help determine your outcome. And above and beyond all, you need to test drive both for any sort of REAL determination

Well it seems like you want to keep the 355...so IMO i would pull the trigger on the 575. Why have two 8's when you can have an 8 and a 12??

IMO, the 575M is a GT car that is much more docile and easier to live with on a daily basis. You can get it in either manual or F1 transmissions, but, since it is no longer produced the majority of the cars you will find on the used market will be F1-equipped. Since the technology has come out it simply outsells the traditional shifter cars because everyone wants to be Michael Schumacher. The 360 is a more raspy, race-oriented car that would be best used as a weekend toy. It can be lived with everyday, but a 575 would be a much better choice if that is what your planning on doing with it.

I like the traditional cars better, so I wouldn't get the F1.

For me a major factor was that I wanted a convertible. The 360 comes in that model. The 550/575 doesn't. The Maranello barchetta is somewhat impractical.
