@root your e38 green interior looks great because it is dark and matches the exterior (also the cream seats complement the green nicely). That 550 had 3 very different greens, the two in the interior were not just different darkness/lightness but one was on the yellow side and the other on the blue side of green. If both interior greens matched the dark green exterior it would have been amazing inside and out.

In UK plates its easier to sell to US than EU. Since Brexit EU VAT needs to be payed for UK cars meaning some +20% on top of purchase price before possible country specific registration tax. UK LHD cars are basically stuck in UK now. If in Belgian plates then its different thing.

I think the issue is the top. Of course buyers of the early 1950’s F cars have no top and accept the attributes of the car.

The Murcielago Roadster manual has significantly increased in price. Same traits and issues with the Murcielago Roadster top. The LP640 Roadster manual is real expensive.

    This makes no sense.

Dealers, brokers, writers and promoters need to spotlight the car. John Terminian only has nice things to say about the car and produced a video.

This is true, although with purchase and shipping times I'm sure you could be looking for up to 06/97 cars since they only need to be 25 by the time they get here. I've shipped two cars from overseas and the costs can get prohibitive in cheaper cars but in a $110K car to pay ~$125-130K all in vs $150K stateside it makes sense to me.
It definitely doesn't have the margins to make a business out of it but for someone that wants to save some money, prefers the looks of the euro cars, and wants a bigger pool to choose from spec-wise then it's a good option.

Yes, it’s a UK/Europe price delta vs the US. Not about UK RHD vs ROW. For many classics, UK RHD has traditionally been the most expensive.

Since the start of this Disappearing thread, I have not seen such a difference between Europe and the US for certain Ferraris.

It’s rare to have this delta for any European made car. Who are the new US buyers doing the speculating?

True. I sold my last LHD Ferrari just before Brexit for this reason. To sell a LHD in the UK now (back into the EU) you need to sell at 35% + discount to the EU price for the same car.

Quite a few Ferraris caught up in this net, imported when exchange rates were in favour of UK around 2015.

I'm sure you've seen it back up on Auto Trader at £89,995. Surprised that it was a trader that bid £82,150 with fees. Doesn't seem enough margin in it given how long it might stick around based on similarly priced elsewhere, and I assume sorting some of what you spotted. That said, what do I know.

There’s a good looking ‘99 550 (red/black, #113792) now being auctioned by RM Sotheby’s. It’s a euro-spec car, legally imported into the U.S. many years ago. One owner past 20 years, with 21,000 km showing on the odometer. Current bid is $105k, with 5 days to go.

Hi Darius. Do you know where to search for LHD cars in general that is in the UK? Thanks

The Ferrari Centre/Kent High Performance cars used to have quite a few, because their position near the channel tunnel made it easy for buyers to collect. Otherwise LHD could come up anywhere, and particularly at auctions like Silverstone.

There are fewer around now for the reasons above. If you are interested it's worth calling Roger Collingwood, owner of KHPC, and also Silverstone, to see if they know of any. Roger is pretty well connected.

If you are looking for a particular make/model a search of the usual sites - Pistonheads, Autotrader etc with 'lhd' added as a keyword should bring up the majority on offer

Thanks. As I live in Norway, we need LHD cars, but don't need the EU tax as we have to pay Norwegian VAT of 25% anyways. Norway is not a EU country, so the EU tax is irrelevant. So snapping up a dirt cheap Continental R in LHD spec would be just perfect these days.
