I agree on the shame of low milage thing. The real value of these cars are the enjoyment of experiencing new trips and new places and all the momories that goes with those experiences! I accept to loose some of the value of the car by "spending" it to my own enjoyment. Who cares if you die with 30.000 dollar more in the bank?

    Exactly!

I would prefer to die with 100,000 miles on each of my cars than 1,000 miles.

Especially you in America who have longer seasons in many states should use your cars!

Last week, I noticed a modern F car outside in the rain :D. If I only pulled over and took a pic.

    Also painted in red!

I always thought they actually melt in the rain.

When I was a kid, my neighbor had a Pontiac GTO convertible that he bought new. He babied the car, didn’t drive it much and never put the top down because he didn’t want to crease the fabric.
I was there the day he sold the car. As the buyer was leaving, he put the top down and burned rubber down the street.
It made a great impression on me. I’ve owned over 80 cars including 12 Ferrari. And I have thoroughly enjoyed them all by driving the hell out of them, as they were meant to be driven. (Only excessive speed on the track btw)

Getting her 5th(?) major and belts, etc. (The etc. is always the financially scary part. :>) Because of Covid, major home remodel, etc., less than 10k miles over 5 years, so these belts are for time rather than the usual 30k+ miles. Hopefully a few longer road trips this Spring.

The spec on that car is delicious!

    I am not sure why someone asked this question;

Hi Can you please advise why car has been relisted so soon after selling on this site only a few weeks ago and if there are any overheating problems or damage to engine/components caused by overheating or other known mechanical issues not stated.

Interesting! Here’s the listing for it when it sold 18 months ago for £96,500. Sounds like it hasn’t had a penny spent on it since. Intriguing about the overheating question. Not something you would ask about a 550, unless you had some inside knowledge I guess?

Maybe some of my fellow Uk residents know more about this car..Jonathan…?

He'll be pretty lucky to recover his purchase price methinks. It's £70k now ('reserve lowered'), so I'd leave £15 in the bank for repairs and would bid up to maybe £80? It just doesn't look like a loved car. Is it hiding something?

Sorry, I missed this. I think the overheating question was because one of the photos showed the water temperature off the scale. Strangely, I can't see that photo now!

Was the question answered? It is annoying that, unlike BaT, you can no longer see the questions and answers after the auction has finished. Difficult to find the auction listings for unsold cars too, for that matter, unless you have the direct link.

Yes, it was for sale at Slades in 2018/19 (£129,950 then £119,950) and again, briefly, in May 2020 (asking £102,950).

Previously sold at Bonhams Goodwood auction in 2014 for £84,380 www.bonhams.com/auctions/21907/lot/239/

Failed to reach the lowered reserve so no sale. I didn't see where bidding had reached at the end.
In the Q&A it also transpired that the fan was permanently on because the solenoid had been bypassed, and somewhere referenced past engine overheating due to this fault, which had not been investigated.
