Image Unavailable, Please Login .....well, have been busy with other issues during the past year, havn't follow the discussions that much, no idea to sell the car at the moment.

Had done with my car the 15.000 miles service this year, which was quiet costly, due to the off. european service scedule mentioned at the service bookled. Nothing else was due to be changed. No water or oil losses, no overheating....., just everything works out perfect.....

Still my favorite Maranello, gated, beautiful colour combination..., classic interior..., love those analog and classical dials......

Following up to let those of you who kindly replied to my posts know that your encouragement was not in vain. I collect this on Thursday. Late 2004 575M.

Is the image reversed, or is it really wrong hand drive? ;)

    Congrats!

Thanks both. Black/black would not have been my first choice before searching, but yellow badge, calipers, rev counter, seatbelts, contrast stitching and some carbon fibre made it work for me. I'm getting it polished then a ceramic coating applied to make it easier to keep clean.

@TwoMinds Black beauty you have there! Black wasn't my first color choice either for the 550 I ended up purchasing back in 2017. But it was acceptable given the car's other attributes plus its overall excellent condition. Some guys will wait years to find exactly what they want, and that's great, but sometimes you gotta go with "good enough." At my advancing age life's too short otherwise.

Exactly my thought process. This was £10k cheaper than any other with FHP, and the late build means it has the steering ECU and suspension upgrades.

This thread, which has chronicled Maranellos for the last 10 years, seems to have been supplanted by another thread with a title about manual conversions, which is a bit distracting. So for no reason other than to uphold the honour of this thread, whose substance has been absorbed by the other thread, I am reviving it here. With an observation that a good 550 is in nominal terms in the UK around 10 to 20 per cent more (price wise) than in 2014, which in real terms is probably 30 to 40 per cent less. A good 575 F1 is around the same as it was in nominal terms, and a good 575 manual is 30 to 40 per cent more, maybe, in nominal, not real terms.

in terms of disappearance, they really are disappearing in the sense that for the last ten years very few really nice cars have come up for sale. People are keeping them, and since they tend to own them outright, economic headwinds don't mean they need to sell them. So the big notable that the start of this thread marked was the end of the era of Maranellos being widely available used cars with some great examples freely available. Price notwithstanding that has not happened again.

    I’m starting to get annoyed….
my “Maranello has disappeared” at my mechanic on May 2nd for real basic stuff and in another week I’ll go again to check on it and make sure it still exists. 8-(

if you go in for your annual but it takes 6 months do you dare go back in 6 months or wait 18 months!
    8-(

I don’t know about any of the other guys but I know @Mirek this summer also hasn’t had his steed in the garage for ages?

Looks like from Kent High Performance Cars. Well done! I strongly recommend them for all Ferrari service work as well.

Thanks Peter. I'm very happy with it. Likely more so once the Fiammenghi mufflers are on. I haven't seen a single 575 with as good a spec/year/price combination since so I'm glad I bought this one. It's a bit of a hike to KHPC for me so I've yet to decide on who to service it going forward. If not KHPC then Rardley or Autoficcina.

Mine diappeared when I sold it. It went to Australia, as too did my Dino. Do they know something we don't know Down Under?

My single favorite Ferrari moment was a close to midnight run from MD back to CT in a new to me 550M.

I remembered distinctly the giggle I made when I looked down thinking I was going 90, and I was at 140 for a short spurt on 95N. No cars around, perfect pitch black straightaway.

Probably would've been smart to of found a way to have kept that car.

In mobile.de and autoscout24.com absolute bottom is now 1k or 2k under 100k euros. That's for absolute bottom. More normal low ask is 115-120k. Upper end is over 200k for most optimistic sellers. Two years ago numbers were 75-150k. Not too many cars seem to sell, at least not quickly. Looks like prices are stuck at this level for now.

On other topics, making my first 2 day trip to Helsinki in November and then continuing on and taking the kids to Raveniemi to Santas Village!

I don’t recall seeing any active Fchatters here from Amsterdam or Dublin (my other stops for the trip).

    Others could answer better but
in the US back in 2010-ish I recall seeing a few 550’s in the high 70’s but I don’t know if we got lucky enough to see anything in the $60’s (been a long time so I could be wrong)
