Blue. His 550 was red. Until it was hit by a low flying tree. I am into blue Ferraris, too: Image Unavailable, Please Login and red ones: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Seth- I am partial to red and yellow. Do not live in the desert anymore, so guess it does not make as much difference. So far three red/red-orange and one yellow Ferrari and a blue Fiat Dino Coupe 2400 GT.
The colours of my Ferraris are a bit coincidental, as I have mainly bought on condition and spec and price, rather than a particular colour combo. There are colours I don't consider, beyond which..my F512M is red with red/black carbon seats, my 550 was red/black, my 575 is TdF/tan, my 430 spider is Silverstone grey/crema. I actually like the grey and blue the best right now, though red is never wrong on a Ferrari. The F512M is my profile pic because it looks great and is the wildest car I own.
Well this is my first post, because I’m the lucky (I hope) successful bidder on the 612, at the price I couldn’t resist, even if we are heading into a period of extreme uncertainty. Was indeed from KHPC. Hopefully will be delivered next week, although will be a while before I can drive it to anywhere other than the supermarket.
You got yourself an excellent price on a 612. Enjoy it. First thing, check the dates on the tyres and swap them out for MPS4Ss if they are old. You will indeed be only driving to the supermarket..though which one, is the question. I have been discovering some good branches a fair way from home (and then, to ensure social responsibility, forgetting to go in, and driving home again .).
Congratulations, that's a great car you got for the money. I've never heard a bad word about KHPC so it's coming from a good place to start with. I'm interested to see what the 575's bring over the next week or so.
Price point: 16/04/2020 2003 575M F1 26,800 miles - £61,000 + fees (£64,660) https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2003-ferrari-575m
Thanks! I’ve followed your advice and arranged for a new set of MPS4Ss...the front tyres were “aged” let’s say. The other positive news is the police guidelines now say we can drive to the countryside to walk as long as we do “substantially more exercise than traveling”. I’m happy to make that trade!
Great re the tyres. I didn’t know about that police advice. That is excellent news for anyone who loves driving and walking. The roads are empty.
2003 575 auction ending today:- https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2003-ferrari-575m-maranello-2 Another one about to start:- https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2002-ferrari-575m-maranello
I want its wheels. If it's KHPC stock, it's a good car, even with its 50,000 miles. Somebody could bag a bargain driver F1 575.
It is a KHPC car. Also what a lot of people don't realise is this is not an "sold as seen auction sale". The final contract is not with Collecting Cars it's with the vendor (who you pay directly as the winning bidder) in this case The Ferrari Centre. So any cars sold on this platform by a trade seller are sold as though you were buying from their forecourt and come with the legal implications of a sale conducted in that manor. Of course if the seller is private then it's the usual sold as seen situation. You may have noted the following comment from the seller in the bid section:- Roger C says: Hi James, We have checked all of the window switches and door locks. They all work as they should do however, we are going to make a small amount of adjustment to one of the locks. The light corrosion on the bulkhead is only a small bit of surface corrosion, we are going to rub this back and attend to it as necessary with some corrosion treatment. I would also just like to point out that the car will also be supplied with our normal 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever the sooner, warranty, against major mechanical failure. Subject to fair wear and tear, misuse and negligence. Many thanks, Roger If I was a seller I'd be happier selling on this site and retaining possession of the car until I was paid rather than have it sat on SOR right now. You may have seen COYS of Kensington have called in the administrators. How many times is that now?
Note the last owner was never told about the 5 year belts for the 575M and cambelts were religiously changed every 3 years. Very well maintained from what I can see.
The silver car is not a show car. The red vehicle looks well cared for and someone may find a bargain.
I agree on both points. I'm really not keen on the colour scheme of the red car though. Just not my thing.
I like wild factory applied color combinations. No doubt I hold a different view than most buyers. ___ Prices are low. I would not mind the idea of importing an early 1994/1995 stock 456GT (6spd), from Japan.
Honestly I generally like funky colours. My daily is an orange Audi Estate and I paid Mercedes a silly amount of money (for Mercedes standards) to paint my SL a colour I wanted. Just not on Maranello's though - this is a car that looks better understated. IMO of course.
24/04/20 Sold - £55,911 + fees (£59,265.66) Seems about right for a retail sale on what looks like a well looked after 575 F1. https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2003-ferrari-575m-maranello-2
It's a sensible price, someone got a good car to drive. Price is 2015 level, thinking of this thread, interestingly, despite everything right now. Above 2014 levels. The interior is the favoured Italian colour scheme. Red carpets black leather. I don't like it either but many do. Brits prefer cream or tan seats. Germans like cream or tan dash.
Seth- That looks more like a New Mexico road it is so empty. With the 5th largest state and 2 million people, lots of open space, but not as many trees. Of course Montana is the 4th largest state with 1 million people, and they have lots of trees.
Taz, the Adirondack Northway runs from Albany, our State Capitol, to the Canadian border and is a continuation of the Interstates linking New York City and Montreal, about 360 miles. Runs through the Adirondack State Park into which one could put Yellowstone Nat'l Park, Grand Teton Nat'l Park, Glacier N.Park, Yosemite N.Park, Grand, Bryce and Zion Canyon Nat'l Parks and a bunch of others and still have space left over - Adirondack State Park covers over six million acres. It was created in 1892, the same year my mom was created! And Saratoga Springs where I live is almost exactly midway between NYC and Montreal.
