Yes I completely agree (and thank you for your kind comment). There’s a purity in the 550 that isn’t there in the 575. I miss the auxiliary dials of the 550. If they’d done a “TDF” of the 550 with the 575 engine..mmm.

but it’s worth repeating that the 575 engine is really noticeably more athletic than the 550, in standard form. Something that doesn’t always get recognised, maybe because of the insignificant difference between the 456 and 456M; and also (slightly more difference but still minor) between 512 TR and F512M. The M in the 575 really does denote a difference.

    Eric,
I was hoping the car would do well, but I was also surprised by the price, especially given the RNM at $74k a year ago. I figured that would anchor the bidding a bit. I did not expect it to come in over six figures. That said, it is a nicely spec'd driver with a reasonable history.

Let's hope the new owner makes an appearance here.

i will admit/concede that it should theoretically need zero items for awhile….

If I understood the posting right maybe it still needs a red master fob?

Last time it came up I bid on it and the old seller last time was looking for $89.

No clue if he got $89 back then (from today’s flipper) but it seems like there was some maintenance investment by the current seller? I didn’t look to see if there were invoices….

The 575’s have continued to bounce around “oddly”.

I really liked it last time AND this time…. just higher than I thought for me personally.

Would also love to see the new buyer check in. If I understood it — he sold a 355 and bought this one. Might already be an F-chatter.

That's a high price compared to the RNM last time...Nice car, though.

Has the market softened on the V12 GTs?! Looking at a 2014 575M, 17k miles. Pretty well sorted and I had thought this to be around 110 market yet I’m looking at a solid purchase price knowing there are few bits needing mending (front struts and bushings throughout in the near future).

My sense is that the 575m market (in the US) seems to be going up- along with the rest of the market. A year ago a 'driver quality' 575 was an $75-90k proposition. Now, it seems like $90-105K, though I've seen a few in the low $120s. A lot depends on condition and options.

$110k seems on the higher end, especially if it is going to need several thousand in struts and bushings. That said, I am not seeing many later model 575s (outside the Super Americas, which really are in a different price class) on the market so hard to say.

    Curious what others think?

Nationwide I'm not seeing many but I do see 2 2003s

136k for a 23k mile at Ferrari of New England
140k for a 9.5k mile at Ferrari of New England

I would generally assume they are climbing, maybe even better that there are not many moving right now?

Climbing. Compare them to a 993 2 S or Turbo. And they are a bargain. More rare and a 12 cylinder engine, while the ithers have only 1/2 an engine…

    Only my personal opinion.

Too few transactions and opportunities to say for sure but in my mind there should always be at least a $30k or more premium for an “apples to apples” 550 compared to a 575.

@SteveVT and @dhalperin13 did well on 575’s at low numbers as have others.

I don’t think it has been mentioned here on the forum publicly but there is a Grigio Titanio 550 privately available for sale (driver) that in my mind is under priced at $120k. To me that means there isn’t a 575 out there (driver) that is more valuable than $90k.

When I was hunting last year…..the list of 575’s that were on my “Alicorn” list was short…..all others I wouldn’t have paid more than $80k….over $80 I’d have switched to 550’s.

    just my 2 cents….

Do you remember where that 550 was listed. I saw it and then I lost it. I know it was higher mileage (maybe 47K?), but I would like to look into it. Please let me know where to find it if you can remeber.

Yesterday this one sold again on BaT.

+) The hammer fell at $180k
    +) https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-ferrari-550-maranello-16/
+) 10,100 miles so from when it was flipped it put just 72 miles on the clock

Very desirable car to me at least. The $180k didn't seem crazy to me for an investment mile car (in a desirable to me color).

I think $185k was a little on the low side. Maranellos look great in yellow but it takes a committed person to actually BUY a F--- You Yellow car. I came close to buying yellow cars on more than one occasion but every time I change my mind in the last minute. Color may have influenced the relatively low bidding interest.

If Enzo could have picked the national racing color for Italy it would have been yellow- the color of Modena, his birthplace!

Like I said, I personally love the Maranello in yellow, but just can't pull the trigger at check cutting time. Long time ago I came very close to buying a brand new yellow Honda CRX si and a few years ago I actually put a deposit on a yellow F355 GTS manual but chickened out both times. While that's just my personal observation, if you check production numbers yellow is one of the lowest produced car color across many brands and models because while lovely, the committed buyer pool is probably limited. Regarding the yellow 550 that recently sold on BaT, if you disregard the bargain hunters, there were only 2 realistic bidders in the last day.

Yellow cars have always had limited buyer appeal, so people tend to avoid them because of perceived lesser resale value, despite how great yellow can look on certain cars and in the right shade. Yellow also doesn't always pair well with interior colors other than black, or maybe white, which further limits its appeal. Aside from personal taste, it's about money pure and simple.

Yellow/Brown is an outstanding combination. I’m an anything-but-red guy. I’ve had 4 different Blues, black, yellow, green, and Rosso Scuderia - which is orange!

Depends on the shade of brown (or tan). Some look okay together, some look awful. It's all personal taste.

I do like brighter yellows more towards the "orange" end of the spectrum (do not like lighter pastel yellows)...currently have a '70 911 former race car in Porsche Signal Yellow that looks great, perfect for the car. Love Giallo Fly or Giallo Modena...classic Italian sports car color. Buddy here locally as a '00 Giallo Modena 550, black interior w/ yellow seat piping. Fantastic combo.
