Maserati 2017 production:- 51 500 units, up 22.33% over 2016 production of 42 100 units. Q1+Q2+Q3+Q4= 11 900+13 200+10 900+ 15 500= 51 500
Those are not bad numbers at all. The Italians are really making a dent in sports luxury sales. I wonder who is getting the biggest lose in sales because of this, Germany?
They're making a slight dent but let's see where they go from here. I don't think the Germans are losing much sleep over this. Most of the Maserati sales are from the Ghibli which seems to have tapered off a bit. A lot of people got excited at the idea of owning a new Maserati for a relatively cheap price but once you run out of those, you need a lot more going for your brand in order to continue the growth.
Actually the number one selling Maserati is the Levante just as the Macan is the number one selling Porsche (before that it was the Cayenne) accounting for about 40% of sales. While the numbers of a 22% increase on its surface is good, it should have been much higher with closer to 60,000 units. The goal is 70-75,000 units, a combination of a new GranTurismo and Alfieri was/is expected to bring in that additional 10-15,000 units. Word now is that a Stelvio based small SUV will be produced to compete with the Macan, that who-Utah them over the 75k number pushing to 80k.
Yeah the new GT and Alfieri delay is a big step back for them. Didn't know the Levante is the hottest seller now. I wonder how it compares to the 1st year of the Ghibli.
