    Hi everyone

My Mexico is back from bodywork/paintjob and will be completed soon.

The car is what you can call a "barn find".
The car had been seized by this lawyer about 10 years ago from a ruined owner. Unfortuneatly, he really wasn't into classic cars and left the Mexico outside (whereas he had an empty box!) !!!
Mother nature ate the doors, sill etc... and major bodywork restoration was needed, although the car has 15'000 km and was in new shape before (i have photographs)...
It's a 4.2 from 1970, original color was this horrible Marrone Colorado which i changed to Blu Ischia. Hopefully, the car is mechanically perfect.
    Some pictures?

Obviously you've done a beautiful job with the metal.
I understand this would have a wood paneled dash facia.
    How did it hold up?

Edit: some factoids which clarify actual production numbers (oft cited is 250 produced, this says otherwise) & other facts

    Thanks to all !

Auroraptor : mechanics are perfect (hopefully), i wouldn't have bought the car if i had mechanical issues. This restoration is gonna cost some insane money with the bodywork/interior/exterior/parts alone...
But anyway, it has always been my favorite car and i'd doing this to keep the baby.

I'll post pictures as i move forward...
    Today... 4 headlamps re-installed... (great huh? - i have a job too!)
it's gonna be slow these days as i have to send parts to be rechromed.

One of the first "exotics" that I ever saw in person was a Maserati Mexico at a mall show in Tacoma. I think the local Pontiac dealer had the Maserati and Lotus franchise. I just LOVED that car. Loved it!

Keep us posted on the progress, great to see what you are doing.

Some slow progress on the car but big step forward...
Since my last post, i sent the wheels to Borrani, just got them back, i had all external parts re-chromed, rebuilt, restored or bought them new. Found new XWX tires, interior was sent for refreshing, dash and steering wheel needed new lacquer...

Now most parts are back, and the fun part is now... re-assembling the car (WOW that's a very COMPLEX car...) I just fitted some external parts...

Notice the nice (HEAVY) chrome plate holder, and new borranis etc...
