I have been working on the car pictured and have been researching it's background. Perhaps some of the Maseratisti could shed some light on it's history. It is the first of four V8 RIs built and now has torsion bar rear suspension. The Chrysler V8 was installed here in the States. I have heard a rhumor that the original motor still exsists and in France.

A Hemi Maserati...and it even has a torsion bar suspension! I like it.

BTW, I use irfanview to shrink pictures, it's easy. www.irfanview.com

If I'm not mistaken the picture was taken in Tuscani

On the right side you can see the Street sign saying "Montecatini"

That's in italy, and if my geography is good it is in Tuscani.

You're wellcome. Only #4501 originally had this high tail.

I'm sure you know this article: www.rickcarey.com/Articles/Maserati_V8RI.htm

I understood once the original engine went to a George Weaver who kept it as spares for #4504, where it was part of the Donnington collection?

Many folks like the car the way it is, I would like to see it restored to original. Part of that process is locating the parts and information to do so. All input is appreciated.
