Max Verstappen 2021 World Champion*
Truth be told, I do think Max was the better driver than Hamilton in 2021. I'm also glad he won, the drama it adds to the sport is great. I can't wait until March!!! If I was rooting for Hamilton, I would be livid. No doubting that!
Need to do a survey on the age of posters.... Image Unavailable, Please Login I know, it's the boring off-season.....
Few days back Max33Verstappen posted about a visit to Austria. He actually raced in the GP Ice Race in Zell Am See this past weekend. Redbullracing will release photos/videos on February 3 along with an interview.

Heard Max has signed a new contract with Red Bull, 4+1 years, 50m Eur a season...making him the highest paid driver on the grid.
Don’t understand why he decided so quickly. Imagine for one second Ferrari becoming the best team for the next five years..
That's what they're saying.....looks like RedBull is finally dishing out some serious cash. Telegraaf reports that Max Verstappen and Red Bull agree on a mega contract renewal. Max is set for a four/five year contract deal that would earn him around 50mio per year! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And that's base salary...excluding his $ per point, personal sponsorships, win/championship bonus. BIG contract. I think Schumachers' contract (counting for inflation) was still the biggest.
I think Leclerc still has 3 years there? Sainz I don't know...but if Ferrari has the (clear) best car, they don't need Max. Of course he'll have performance clauses in his contract anyways, but all teams (likely to succeed) except Mercedes right now have great drivers under long term contracts. Ferrari, Mclaren...(erm, that's kinda it, lol).
Huuu,hu, someone is gonna lose his sleep over this new, now hat his not the best paid driver in the grid!
I don't think he really cares. His main goal was already achieved and now he's going to race "for fun" - perhaps even try other series (he said he'd like to race the 24h of Le Mans with his father). Besides, he seems really at ease with all the RB personnel. It's like a second family to him.
It's not surprising really: Verstappen is hot property now, and could be for years to come. Red Bull has better protect their investment, just like they do with Newey, their other asset.
Red Bull did well if they plan to stay in f.1 for a long time, because in a couple of years Elton will be gone and, unless George turns out to be very, very good, Mercedes will need someone, and they would try to poach Max.
You're funny..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Seriously though, I hope they at least clear McLaren.
To put this in perspective: The great Niki Lauda had 25 wins at the end of his career with 3 championships. The sky is the limit for Max. But to be fair, today they have a lot more races per season, the cars and tracks are less dangerous and reliability is up (no, not you Ferrari).
More remarkable in my book are the 51 victories from Prost in 199 gp s. Mainly in 80’s when there were 16 gp per year maximum with very bad reliability and huge risks on human side.
