Russell. Spanks lulus ass all year. Lulu is irrelevant. Fact
Russell has been very consistent. It looks like Mercedes are starting to get to grips with their car and it's more drivable now than it was earlier in the year, so if Russell continues to out-perform him next year then I suspect Hamilton might just retire at the end of the 2023 season - he likely wanted to retire with 8 WDC at the end of 2021 but that didn't happen. I think he's in the sport longer than he wanted to be because he wants just one more title. All the best, Andrew.
That would be an assumption shared by the media, fans and teams on the grid. Also from the conclusion the fia gave in the report that said it was not done correctly. But keep clutching at straws if it makes last years title less tainted that needed a present from masi + breaking financial regs.
... and the head of the FIA publicly announced that the door is wide-open for Masi to return to F1, in the very same role (this, a couple months after the FIA validated Verstappen's 2021 WDC)
Yep, cause they took 1 role, split it in 3 and the man with the most exp who according to you did his job, was not even shortlisted for the job and was sent packing as soon as the investigation was finished? Ok, i agree with you
Give it time ! Russell is already in the crosshair of some haters. His faults is that he drives for Mercedes and whines too much apparently. I don't think he does a bad job, in view of his troublesome car.
Doesn't change the facts: Verstappen was validated as 2021 WDC by the FIA, the FIA changed the safety car rules for 2022, and the head of the FIA said, quite publicly, that he would use Masi again, in the F1 Race Director position. I agree with the FIA. Your agreement is not necessary.
I never said they didnt validate it, but we know that race finished with 0 integrity and has been a huge black cloud over the sport ever since... And i doubt we will see Masi again. Fia also says a lot that should not be taken at face value eg just over a week ago they said no body had broken financial regs, and the rumours was wrong... A week later, we know red bull have over spent, thus adding a tainted obelisk to that title alrdy tainted championship title.
I thought the other thread was the one where everyone insulted Lewis incessantly? Is it this one now?
2 different issues that are not linked here! Not many would contest Max WDC, but Masi's return would create an uproar, I guess.
Regarding Masi's departure, i was just responding to an earlier post (above) that his "dismissal" was probably "political". I agree completely ... never have i fired someone, and opened the door to re-hire them a couple months later! A temporary dismissal (as suggested by bin Sulayem) is intended to appease someone else, nothing more. Anyway ... IF Masi does indeed return to F1 after this year, i doubt that the uproar will be too severe. Just my take.
"Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner believes that Max Verstappen has been on "another planet" this year" Christian, would that be Uranus? Sorry, couldn't resist https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/horner-verstappen-has-been-on-another-planet-this-year/10382964/

Why do you REALLY want Masi back ? This is what puzzles me. Beside Abu Dhabi, he wasn't a very good race director, was he?
When a girl breaks up with you and she says "I need space but I may feel different in the future", you seem seem like a person who would believe her.
I don't "want" him back! He made several errors all season long, in 2021 (most of those errors, not in Verstappen's favor ... just look at the first lap of Abu Dhabi!). In fact ... it's a very safe bet, that he was replaced (if only temporarily) for an accumulation of bad calls all season long (along the same lines that a WDC is an accumulation of points, all season long). All i'm arguing against, is any notion that he was permanently fired for the last few laps of the last race. He wasn't permanently fired at all ... and he made judgement calls that were far worse, and much more impactive to the WDC, than the last few laps of the last race.
