I see the issue. He was driving a Ferrari. These are just things that happen to you when you drive a Ferrari...
Leclerc and Norris have been seen doing SIM racing. Some F1 drivers of later years have also as well.
Alonso is seen quite often in open lobbies as well, he races everything and anything...MX5, Formula 4, Formula Vee. Heikki Kovalainen, Rubens Barrichello are 2 former F1 drivers that are VERY active. I quite frequently see active racing drivers of other categories in open lobbies. Will Power, Tony Kanaan, Alex Palou, loads of F4/F3/F2 drivers
https://f1i.com/news/470587-more-sprints-against-dna-of-f1-thunders-verstappen.html More sprints 'against DNA of F1', thunders Verstappen This year there will be six sprint weekends beginning with the next race in Azerbaijan, and the sport is considering further changes to potentially add shorter, one-lap qualifying runs before the sprint. But it's fair to say that the reigning champion is not in favour of the trend, and he went as far as suggesting it could make him fall out of love with the sport and walk away from Formula 1 altogether if it continues. “I’m happy with just the main race. I think that’s way better for the excitement,” he told Sport TV on Friday. "I naturally of course hope that there won’t be too many changes, otherwise I won’t be around for too long." But Verstappen - who is under contract to Red Bull until 2028 - took those initial comments to a whole new level on Saturday during the official FIA post-qualifying press conference in Melbourne. "I'm not a fan of it at all," he replied when asked about the latest proposals to revamp qualifying and sprint sessions currently being discussed by the F1 Commission and the team sporting directors. "I think when we're going to do all that kind of stuff, the weekend becomes even more intense and we're already doing so many races, so I think that is not the right way to go at it. "I understand of course that they want to have basically every day exciting, but then I think maybe it's better to just reduce the weekend, only race on Saturday and Sunday and make those two days exciting. "We're heading into seasons where you have at one point 24/25 races, because that's where we're going to head into, and if we then start adding even more stuff, it's not worth it - for me, anyway. "I'm not enjoying that," he said. "A sprint race is all about surviving, it's not about racing. "For me, when you have a quick car, there's nothing to risk. I prefer to just keep my car alive and make sure I have a good race car for Sunday. "Even if you change the format, I don't find it's the DNA of Formula 1 to do these kinds of sprint races. F1 is about getting the most out of it in qualifying, and then having an amazing Sunday - good, long race distances. "That's the DNA of the sport, and I don't understand or I don't know why we should change that, because I think the action has been good.
What annoys me is that they held the biggest F1 survey ever and it was pretty damn clear the fans don't want it either...but F1 keeps pushing it. They tried it, people don't like it...just let it go.
+1. They wanted more / new fans and engage with them! Yet the silly ideas continue but the new fans came under the current format for a race lol, Stefano is blind !
This "Podiums by number" statistics is flawed by design as it is based on number of podiums. Nowadays there are many more Grand Prix (and therefore possible podium finishes) per year compared to previous decades. In the fifties a full season would be something like 7 Grand Prix.... If sorted by %/Nb GP this list would be completely different. Prominent would be a certain Fangio.
This is how that looks: Image Unavailable, Please Login Just a friendly reminder that it is ok for everyone to have a favorite driver, dislike another and personal opinions can be opinions without it having to be 100% scientifically proven or the biblical truth. And most statistics are just numbers people use to try to prove their point
Video version: He's absolutely right. And there is already proof of it. Right now, aside from Red Bull's hold on 1st place as the best team, the battles in quali and the race have been fantastic.
The thrill of qualifying is what initially drew me to F1. I dread the Sprint weekends, and I don't find the Sprint 'races' to be particularly interesting. I watch the real qualifying and the real race. I watch the 10 minute Sprint recap on F1TV just prior to the race. Kevin
