^^^ Keep telling yourself that. I agree with the MS line I just can't wrap my head around why M-B paid a guy like Lewis so much money when, according to your stance, I guess any number of guys could have done it. And we still have that pesky problem...only 2 guys HAVE done it. And all the hand wringing, excuse making, etc in the world won't change that. You should probably go have a cocktail. And make one for Furoni and Bas while you're at it. I'll just never understand the hate for Lewis, so I'll just stick with my own private theory.
Joe, if you and Bas wanna take a plane, drinks and cocktails on me! Weather is fine, the pool water is great, bring your shorts! We can watch Elton moaning like a goat while he drives around Silverstone
I'll fly the plane! Im a Red car guy all day, but that said I respect talent. Max is amazing. He's NOT that much faster than CL in a race in the same car. RB has some secret sauce. Good on them, but if its over the line they need to pay the price. Look at Max vs Checko and CL, CS .. Something is smelly.
I have to say this Red Bull has a monstrous traction out of slow corner. Their suspension department is top notch either..
last year Charles was just amazing to watch at silverstone, let's hope he can once again rise our spirits...at least this year he won't have Binotto and Rueda to screw him!
For some insiders Vasseur is doing a solid job right now since his arrival in January. Wait and see ..
Let's not forget the telemetry recently showing (earlier this season) Hamilton's new tendency to lift as the Red Bull is passing ... a pathetic, obvious attempt to emphasize the Mercedes' fantasy that the Red Bull is somehow, magically, unnaturally fast (and yes, of course, Verstappen's title was well-earned and well-deserved in 2021 ... as directly validated by the FIA ... especially when you look at the season as a whole, including all the gifts given to Hamilton. Silverstone 2021 comes to mind, naturally, with this week's race upon us)
I forgot about Hamilton's lifting. I even researched the telemetry posted pictures of the telemetry that proved his BS actions.
YES, we have a new "maneuver" by Hamilton this season: whining-by-lifting If you can't win-by-pressing, maybe you can whine-by-lifting "See ... SEE how fast that Red Bull is!! It passes me like I'm standing still!! (please ignore the fact that i'm lifting off the throttle)" ... and YES, this has been verified by telemetry. It's a juvenile move designed to impress his less-than-informed fan-base of 2 things: First, Verstappen isn't winning because of his talent, but rather because of the car's inherent speed. Second, Red Bull simply must be cheating, for their car to be so much faster than the Mercedes (Apparently, Hamilton's newfound "whining-by-lifting" is having the desired effect with some of his fans LOL)
It's really not *that* hard to comprehend. RB build a great car for 2022. Ferrari for 2022 had a flexi floor among other things therefore they could run artificially closer (or ahead even). when Merc lobbied for that to be taken away (actually believing it was RB with such a system), Ferrari was left for dead and the rest was history 2022 Merc arrived with a concept they believed was the best. They didn't fix it. 2023 they doubled down on their concept and colour me surprised, they where still no faster with it! Meanwhile, 2023 RB refined their 2022 car. Max has always been incredible. Pre 2018 more on the edge driving 100% all the time, but incredible none the less. He was just against a car which had a huge margin over the rest, therefore struggled to really win races. He's now got the car to match his talent and obliterating records.
Max "how can he possibly be any better than the rest" Verstappen lapped, comfortably, 2 seconds a lap faster than the next 2 fastests in the wet just now in Silverstone. None where his teammate.
Anyone have a link to this? I never heard about it and haven't been able to locate anything on my own.
It was earlier in the season, I'm sure at Jeddah? Lewis lifted off to make the difference look even more dramatic, then complained to the media.
Max spotted Lando and then made it interesting for 5 laps. BTW, great driving by Hamilton on soft tires to pass Lando after safety car...oh wait...he didn't.
