The real record is on line #4 - to beat the 85.71% he needs 20 wins (of 23 races).

However it is still provisional since 2023 is not complete - so for a complete season, the record is still Michael Schumacher's and yes, what's needed is 17 wins.
Btw, it tells that Verstappen is currently not holding the record for a complete season (number of victories is not significant sine the number of races has been significantly increased).
Anyway, it's likely he will get it this year.

    Talk about salty....

'Irrelevant' Max Verstappen win record only for Wikipedia says Toto Wolff.

Even Kravitz pressed Toto post race and mentioned that "Max is doing what you guys couldn't do?" to which Toto responded " We had 2 competitive drivers so it was difficult to achieve what Max is achieving." (Good excuse to cover up the actual truth.....Mercedes had plenty of time to achieve what Max, along with RedBull, is achieving currently.)

    Just ridiculously petty from Merc.

They can all learn from Vettel, Schumacher (when he could still speak), Todt etc...

Judge people not by how they act when they win but how they act when they lose.

Verstappen races differently in 2023. He doesn't feel the need to push opponents off the track...

    A little different indeed.

Back then, Mercedes had an enormous power advantage over the rest.

Red Bull right now, does not.

Chassis, Aero, Driver making the difference now. Not a rocketship engine with decent other 3 components...

Agree with ToTo. Max has no team mate of Rosberg caliber to challenge him. Easy peasy for Max.

MaxBull is utterly dominant as in the sport in modern era has never seen such. Team and driver's of said team winning all races so far. ON track to win 23 this year and the others flounder and look weak. There is no debate on 'dominance' right now. There is no challenge to MaxBull at all...............again thanks Budget Limit. If you are not competitive within 5-6 races just give up till next year. There is no money to challenge. Current F1.

Mercedes did have the FIA rules that gave Mercedes their dominance while hindering the other teams.

Mercedes had plenty of time to beat the records that Max is currently beating.

Not so "easy peezy" now compared to Mercedes dominance.

Toto and Lewis can ***** and moan all they want saying that they had to fight each other for wins and whatnot...that's why Lewis doesn't have the wins in a row record.

But...Merc's best was 10 in a row with Lewis and Rosberg.

Max did it on his own.

They can minimize the achievement all they like, if it was easy, others would've done it already.

    No it's not.

Mercedes were spending over $400 million per year then and then the token system to guarantee Mercedes dominance.

Now, RedBull can't spend over $400 million per year along with other teams and RedBull doesn't have FIA rules that Mercedes had.

Whats the difference between .5 seconds then and now? How has the time value changed?

I've been saying this for years. You guys can moan all you want, if it was easy to have Sir Lewis Hamilton's records, others would have done it.

Then I don't know why we're discussing this then.

Rules made things simple for Mercedes. Not so for RedBull.

How is Merc .5 advantang simpler than RB's .5? To me .5 is .5. each driver has the same advantange regardless of rules.

That "Sir Lewis Hamilton" thing again...gosh...oh my, my, my. Haven't you learn that "all men are born equal"?
There were times during which a title of nobility was enough to ensure a direct way to the guillotine.
Please do not smear his reputation by using that "Sir" title. Please. He is a Grand Prix driver, not a fat man sitting by his fire wandering and revering in old memories.
You are really doing such a disservice to him.

It's pointless debating with you. Rules are at the very crux of this debate yet you refuse to acknowledge them then compared to now with regards to MercedesAMGF1 dominance and RedBull dominance currently(not 2010 thru 2013).
