Max Verstappen followers: Educate me. What's up with the Jos Verstappen battle axe-grinding for Christian Horner? Don't tell me because Jos is a sexual harassment advocate now. Horner seems good for Max to win championships; It's as confusing if Hamilton's dad tried to take down Toto. I'm dense, so talk to me like a child so I can understand.
Thanks Jim, you're right, power struggle. Definitely a part of it. though Daily Mail is insinuating a Love Triangle as well....
This is now like a ticking bomb at Red Bull; enough damage is done. The instigators of that story will have no rest until Horner is told to clear his desk and leave.
lol! This one was send to me earlier, which puts Max into perspective. Having scanned through his other posts he seems legit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login The boy is a machine. Inhuman.
Have a great season Sergio! Max overlooks Perez in championship fight Max Verstappen has overlooked Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez when predicting this season's top three in the championship. The Dutchman is looking to win the world championship for the fourth straight year and got off to the ideal start when he claimed a dominant victory in the season opening Bahrain Grand Prix. Verstappen led home a 1-2 with Perez climbing up from fifth on the grid. The world champion was asked, during a Q&A when previewing the season on Viaplay, who he thought would finish in the top three, and overlooked his team-mate. “Me, then Lewis (Hamilton), and then Charles (Leclerc)," he replied.
I love Max's honesty but that's kick in the junk to Perez. There is a very good chance that the RB20 will dominant the season and so based on basic math and chance, Perez will get 2nd or at least 3rd in the championship. To not even put him top 3. Ouch. However maybe he doesn't think Perez will be with RBR for the entire season. Max is quite close to Helmut, and he is been quite public about Perez being on a tight rope.
Maybe also, unconsciously, it's better to have as runner up some drivers of other cars - it implies that it's not mainly the car that makes the difference. Perez as 2nd (as it will probably happen btw) would show, to some extent, that the car is enough to win.
I agree and sympathize, as I love Checo. But in the end, it's up to Checo to kick max in the teeth. So far, all Checo has done is show his not as good. That's just fact, and the best way to respond is beating Max. Until he does that, Max is right. Stopwatch has no feelings as far as I know.
Max won 19 of the last 20 races. It is getting beyond incredible.... He is busy surpassing all the greats we have seen before, ever
10 straight wins record... now equaled 2nd best 9 in a row as well. How far can he go on? All the while he's playing iRacing till late at night and early in the morning whilst other drivers go to bed early and perfect their regimen. This guy lives and breathes racing. He's a machine.
Like most drivers after several years of racing, Sergio Perez should know where he stands compared to other drivers, and he probably already accepted that he is no match for his very talented team mate. Checo can be a good #2 and back up Verstappen to gain WCC points for the team, but the idea that he could challenge Max is simply preposterous. He struggles at times to follow him closely, and rarely qualify ahead of Max. They can be team mates sharing the same car, but their respective talents are not on the same level. "Kicking Max in the teeth" can remain a fantasy entertained by some, but in the meantime, it's Max who's scoring the wins !!
Although there was sarcasm in your post, when the #2 driver easily gets 2nd the only explanation is the car. No different than when Lewis and Nico were doing the same.
Except Rosberg would wipe the floor with Perez. Listen to the words they use, They trying to put Max on another planet when the RB can win a race on one set of tires if they really wanted to. But they not fooling anybody.
Which is fascinating is the combination of an absolutely outstanding driver with huge experience right now and an outstanding machine perfectly tailored to his likes. Add to this a bulletproof reliability, a top notch operational team and the outcome is just in front of us every Sunday. SF24 is good enough for WDC and WCC in normal circumstances.. Frankly congrats Red Bull !
It was more or less the same recipe that gave us the Hamilton-Mercedes domination, like the Schumacher-Ferrari years before, and to a point the Senna-Prost-McLaren. Once a team delivers a superior car driven by an unflappable executant, you obtain repeated success. What is ironic is that it will take a 24 races championship to confirm what is predictable from the outset !
