I went to pick up my CLK 55 from service today and see this CL 65 sitting on the floor for $180,000. What the heck is this thing? When did this happen? While looking at the sticker, I noted 600+ hp and 730+ lb ft of torque. This is evidently a factory authorized car. Holy smokes. Anyone seen a road test of this monster? Apparently they're putting these engines in the SL series as well. I'd love to see that in an S Class - talk about a great sleeper. Curious of what kind of 0-60 and 1/4 mile times these things pull. Anyone? Music Guy
Its been around for about a month or two, Top Gear did a segment on it. They didnt seem too impressed, it is bloody fast but they found many faults with it when I find the link i'll post it and you can see it for yourself. By the way welcome to the board!
Must be the Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG, which in the european version boasts 612 Bhp and 1000 Nm (737 lb ft). The engine is good for 1200Nm (885 lb ft) but it's electronically governed to save the transmission... Despite its weight of 2155 kg (4751.0 lbs) it still accellerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 4.4 sec!!! Simply an amazing car! /Peter
