thats F*cking ghey! I hate when the government does this ****. Its not a mass produced Toyota that people are "forced" to buy, nobody makes you buy a Ferrari. What they should do is make sure any buyer is FULLY aware its not safe enough, but thats it. Its a limited production car (so to speak), so if you let em on the road not much bad will happen, and if it does the owner is aware of the danger. If you want a safer car, then its your choice to support other manufactors, Lambo, Porshe, ect. It's up to the consumer.

Second, cant Ferrari just change the air bag, seat belts, or make it able to deactivate??

And as last resort, just make them exempt, but not legal to carry a child in them, with a harsh penalty for doing so...VERY harsh.

When, exactly, has the US government ever demonstrated an attitude of "well, hey, it's your body, take the risks if you want to?"

I think it's great. It's about time FNA receive the crap treatment they dish out to owners. Now maybe they will understand our point of veiw. Screw-em, make the cars safe or don't sell-em.

It is my understanding that the car was designed and on sale before this regulation was put in place and that Ferrari has tried to find an airbag supplier who would make a bag that would work but not one of them wants to do it at any price; the order would just be too small. Sounds like catch 22. Hopefully the Feds will relent.

Anyone venture a guess as to what F will do? It would seem like some fix would be imminent. I'd be curious as to what their allocation strategy will be.

Haha, is it the liberals or the consevratives that impose their beliefs and values on others. I think a liberal would say if you want to kill yourself, so be it but the government should at least ensure that someone pays for the funeral. The moral right would conclude that they know best and no life should be placed in jeopardy. Seriously, why would anyone even want to infuse politics into this topic.

I agree about the BS answer Porsche used to discontinue production. Dealers were getting stuck with CGTs left and right before this pronouncement by Porsche. In fact, I was offered a brand new CGT for $ 498,000 and told by a dealer that many dealers no longer even wanted to accept their allocation of the remaining CGTs as of June or July of this past year. The car is awesome, but there are only so many people willing to pay that much money for a Porsche.
