He is simply trying to hide within the bland styling of the Gallardo ;).

Just imagine the attention MS would get if he drove a Ferrari (excluding the 612, which is the perfect bland Ferrari for those that want to own a Ferrari and have their friends think they are not rich and just bought a Hyundai or something).

He brought to give to his friend as a birthday gift. Page 2 of that article states that Schumi never quite forgave the guy for throwing a stinkbomb through his window (when they were younger) and felt this was adequate payback!

Must be contract renegotiation time. That'll make Luca, Jean and Rory jealous!

Hard to make ends meet on $70 MM. You know it just doesn't go as far as it used to....

Not surprising (at least to me). I will buy a Lamborghini if I make that kind of money, even if I'm a die-hard Fcar enthusiast.

he was probably doing market research for the modena replacement coming up. or he might have gotten bored with the cars offered at the car rental agencies when he got off the plane and just bought whatever was available locally - in other words something that didn't have a waiting list........

I want to see the pic first. I wonder if he actually gets any flack from Ferrari if he was to own or be caught driving a Lambo. Then again as much as the team needs him I guess he can do whatever he wants as long as he shows up to race.

If you are paid tons of money to represent a company, what messege is put out when you drive a revail company vehicle.

I agree. With his type of money he shohuld be able to buy and drive what ever he wants. To make things right, he needs to put extra dark tinted glass. Be a closet Lambo owner.

"Formula One champ Schumacher classed by Swiss as having no income

VUFFLENS-LE-CHATEAU, Switzerland (AP) - Formula One champion Michael Schumacher may earn millions as one of the world's best-paid athletes, but Swiss tax authorities regard him as a foreigner without income.

Officials said Wednesday that Schumacher, a German who has lived in Switzerland for several years, takes advantage of a tax break accorded some prominent foreigners. He pays on the basis of his expenses, such as rent, rather than his income, said a spokeswoman for Vufflens-le-Chateau, the village where he lives.

The rule is that the tax paid has to be at least five times the housing cost, but that is much less than income tax would be.

Schumacher's income, like his tax bill, is secret. But the driver, one of the highest paid sports stars in the world, is believed to be getting at least $30 million a year under a recently extended contract with Ferrari.

In addition he is believed to earn bonuses from sponsors for each win.

Swiss officials refuse to say how much tax Schumacher pays, but the Munich daily Abendzeitung estimated on Tuesday that he was paying $196,000 a year for the estate he is renting. On that basis, he would be paying $980,000 in taxes a year, the newspaper said."
