I think the 2 heavy crashes Mick Schumacher had this year, put serious question marks on his ability.

Twice the cars were completely destroyed, costing $millions to the team and probably sealing his fate, even early on.

Steiner must have estimated then, that Hass could not afford Mick anymore.

I would have done the same thing. His job is gone. I wouldn’t care. It’s not like they have to keep that engine for next year. I will have told them to KISS MY A*** lol

    What is a CSV?

I don't think he was trying to piss off his boss. Doing donuts at the end of the season is ok, none of that equipment will be used again.

I think it was a simple ,misunderstanding..

WHERE he picked to do them is obviously a painted Track Run off....so instead of being on the racing surface, he was grinding rubber into an area SOMEONE was going to have to repair!!!

The Doughnut Zone on the Front Straight was on the racing tarmac and would be faded under use pretty quickly I would think....
    Good Luck, Mick!!!

Hulkenberg unmoved by Schumacher fate: 'That's just how F1 is'

That’s natural in F1. We all fight for our careers, for the same piece of Tarmac," said the F1 veteran on the eve of his return to the track with his new team on Tuesday for F1's test day at Yas Marina.

"That’s just how F1 is and ultimately the driver, when he’s racing, he has to convince the team with performance. And if that’s not the case, the team is going to change.

"Same with engineers, with all personnel."

Unless your dad owns an F1 team, not all F1 drivers FIGHT for an F1 seat.

Mick will be fine. He's not a lost talent it seems, a story of what could've been.

But he's shown plenty of competence that he can enjoy a long career as an established racing driver. If he wants, Indycar is an option, or LMDH, GT3...whatever. Demo runs in Schumacher driven F1 cars are very likely for him to continue doing.

Will we see him back in F1? Time will tell.

LOL - he knows Lance is a poseur lol :) Lets not think of him as accomplished. He holds the wheel and tours until he abruptly changes direction and nearly kills others. The tourist continues his career. Such as it is.

Tell that to FA among other drivers. He is useless. Full proof provided just recently. He is dangerous and has literally not improved miuch at all. Lance off the grid is a good idea. Rewatch his garbage moves on FA in Austin. He is a complete idiot.

The problem is the penalty points system. Points given for stupid, non-safety related incidents (e.g. track limits) can end up being greater than for significant safety related issues. Prime example is Gasly, who is on the verge of getting a race ban.
    https://the-race.com/formula-1/f1-drivers-expect-penalty-points-rule-change-amid-gasly-ban-fear/
If points were given purely on safety related issues then some poseurs would no longer have their license.

That is not the point. He may not be popular among some F1 followers, but Lance Stroll has the right to be in F1 like anyone who fulfills the obligations, obtains a Superlicense and gets a drive.
Incidents happend, some even provoked by former WDCs. It's up the FIA to dsicipline the sport in an even way.

The FIGHT for an F1 seat doesn't apply to Lance.

Everyone else on the grid has to fight to keep an F1 seat....as it should be.

Lance's PRIVILEGE trumps all F1 drivers on the current grid.

Lance can stay longer in an F1 car than Alonso as long as dad is around.

Personally, I have nothing against Lance's privilege.

No F1 rule prohibits a team owner to offer a seat to his son, providing he qualifies for a Superlicense.

Access to F1 doesn't follow an unmovable logic, far from it, but is subject to many different factors.

Its wonderful he has 'privilege' he lacks the skill to match his trust fund. He is absolutely an idiot after recent events. Enough. Without his family he never see's an F1 seat. Period.

The "irk" is Ricciardo is out of an F1 seat.

Lance isn't. Ricciardo is better than Lance.

    But what do I know.

Oh, c'mon! F1 is not just who is the best driver, it's also about who puts his chips onto the right seat etc.

Or to put it differently: F1 is not about a fair world order, rather a cunning one.
