Macchina Motorwerx (MMWX) fixed the shifting problems with my EAG-converted F430, and I'm thrilled with the result. I have no connection to them other than being a very happy customer. A little background, skipping most of the challenges/stories related to Art and EAG: I purchased my converted 2007 F430 in December 2022. It was completed by EAG around November 2022 and almost immediately put up for sale by the owner. I never spoke to him so I don't know why, but I can probably guess. After a while and a bunch of work, the car was looking and running great. However, it still did not shift cleanly. I fully understand how to adjust the shift cables, but no amount of fiddling would yield a permanent improvement. I would get it almost "good enough," but after maybe 50 miles I'd get problems going into gear, mostly 1st and 2nd. Because of this disappointing situation, I didn't drive the car much. I contacted MMWX after seeing one of their social media posts and recognizing "that's exactly the problem I have!" I received a prompt call from John and we had a detailed discussion about the various generations of the EAG parts and what some of the issues might be. I scheduled a time to bring my car to him and his team. They operate out of new building which is clean and well organized. They took the time to show me the differences in the various parts. They swapped out the stuff that wasn't working, had my car sorted in short order, and even held it for me for a few days until the weather improved enough for me to come get it from the DFW area. Most importantly, the car shifts perfectly, as I had hoped it would way back when I received it two years before. No, I'm not happy about having to pay to partially re-convert a car EAG converted previously (before some members of the MMWX team were at EAG), but I was treated more than fairly and am really happy with this car. If anyone in the DFW area is considering a MMWX conversion I'd be happy to show you how mine came out. Contact me through pms.
Out of interest does your converted car artificially hold up the engine RPM after you dip the clutch? I've seen some videos of converted cars that do and it's totally wrong.
The ecus (trev tune) and e-diff did not require any changes. They were fine from EAG. Internal shift tower assembly, reverse switch, cables, and rear external selector box.
No, it doesn't. It requires a proper heel and toe to be smooth with it if being driven spiritedly, as it should.
Internal shift tower assembly, reverse switch, cables, and rear external selector box.[/QUOTE] Wow, that is practically everything...
Yeah its there own fabricated custom design which I hated on mine as well. Man, they practically replaced the whole kit, those 3 parts really are key to how it shifts. I changed 2 of 3 of those too because my cables were OEM so that didnt need to be changed. Do you know which kit they replaced it with?
I just saw their IG and it still looks like a custom design and very similar to the EAG design. Looks like they are making custom Murci conversions too. I wonder if Art is getting Murci conversion parts from them? Im glad to hear you got your conversion fixed/resolved. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Weird, what was the issue with the cables? I know that EAG had some issues with their own cables after they ran out of OEM but never heard about issues with the OEM ones.
I actually don't know that they were OEM. I was told that they were the "good ones" so maybe that was an updated cable set EAG was using and a bad assumption on my part. However, I wanted everything that could be contributing to the poor shifting replaced. No sense in leaving a potentially suspect part in the middle of the mechanism.
Macchina Motorwerx (MMWX) also fixed my manual swap on the F430. I was having ALL of the same problems that Milrad was and they were able to clear them up. The car is night and day better. When I first bought the car, EAG had done the manual conversion about a year prior to that. The shifting was very milky. It certainly worked, but not well. Not well at all. During a 3 day stay in Austin, I left the car and trusted these folks to clear up my issues and they did that in spades. I highly recommend anyone that needs their car swapped and/or needs help clearing up the residue of EAG to please bring your car here. They were transparent, prompt, and trustworthy. I will be taking my car to them for the yearly service moving forward. Thanks, Paul R.
