Compared to stock, I love them and would not go back. I’m doing something different though and want to recoup some costs. I’ll post updates in the coming weeks
Awesome IG page you got there. Yes that is 1 point docked off for me for these guys but other than that they are really cool. Gotten a lot of compliments on mine so far because it perfectly matches my special paint color as if these lights are OEM
HOT OFF THE PRESS I smell a Group Buy #2 coming REALLL soon... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking at the Morimoto lights, I'm not sure if they're actually brighter than the Byron/Ebay lights. Definitely cheaper though.
Just thinkin out loud, wouldnt there be a market to make LED headlights for the F430's just like there are multiple suppliers for LED taillights? (im not that good with electricity etc, so i wont be able to design n make it, but im sure people around here could, or have connections to have them made, especially in china?) On another note, that blue F430 spyder a few posts above, looks to be a killer spec, any more pics of that car?!?!
Not sure if the images are enhanced but for a daytime shot the entire Morimoto light system is more visible so I would say they appear to be brighter than Byron's. My honest (no affiliation to either) comparison from my POV: * The halo ring is clearly more noticeable with the Morimoto. * The reverse light on the Morimoto is completely solid white whereas you only get that effect during night time with Byron's. During the daytime you see individual LEDs in reverse. * Can't really judge on the blinkers as the photos only show 2 amber glows but definitely more noticeable than Byron's single circular blinker. That was something I tried to push for to be more noticeable with Byron directly because under direct sunlight - at certain angles - you can hardly see the turn signal even when it was made brighter later on for the Group Buy's batch of lights.
I have got used to the Group buy ones now, and these look nice as well. Where do you stop though there will be another set along soon no doubt! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm with boba The MM's clearly demonstrate their experience with lighting design, have a nice reverse light since they're white, and the yellow blink glow looks nice. They do a nice job of paying homage to the F40 light and if you prefer that look, they are a nice modernization. The PB's create a completely different look, one which I also have come to like
Correct. The car's color plays is a big role. From what I've seen so far, Bianco Avus, Rosso Corsa and Argento Nurburgring rocks the PB's light very well. Very modern and more aggressive due to the smoked center. The MM's light is very OEM inspired retaining that clear center. The clear center looks better the darker the car is because it'll give more focus to those Enzo lights Would have to see the final product and how much the ring glows at night. Currently the PB's nighttime glow is in its own class and look that no other Ferrari out there. It reminds me of the Ford GT Supercar's glow.
IMO it also depends on whether the car has the carbon upper segment in the bumper. There needs to be some contrast against the very dark light centres.
Although I am not going to change my stock lights, I am sorry to say, you group buy guys overpaid and the Morimoto lights look 10x better than those ebay lights that look too aftermarket and dark. These morimoto look and seem to function the way they should. https://www.morimotohid.com/f430-xb-led-tail-lights-ferrari?quantity=1
All i keep thinking when seeing the MM lights is "Damn that blue F430 spyder looks sexy AF" (all its missing is a red interior to make it absolute perfection)
Ordered a set of the MM lights and waiting on shipment. It will be 4-6 wks. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Hmm I like those smoked lenses. Would look nice on my car…. but I am happy with my group buy lights and will stick with those for a while.
To cheap and bling looking for me, I don’t like them, neither of them look like stock. don’t let me get in your way if you want them though!
