It's an odometer premium, and not a very realistic one.

I looked at that car 2 years ago. He wanted $69K then. He is a completely unmotivated seller and is positioning the car at the absolute highest possible point. He does not care if it doesn't sell.

But: He is selling a pristine example of the only 4 seater convertible mid-engine exotic ever made. In the NY metro market, I'm sure he's thinking that some Wall St. money might pick up the car. Why get a Porsche when the Mondi actually has more room and is far rarer?

we are all somewhat un-motivated sellers but tend to list at high prices anyway.

that's too high. Valeo get more in premium, and those are no closer to $65k than this older model.

Perhaps a famous movie star spilled starbucks in it.

True enough, but most buyers want 2 seater convertible exotics.

At any rate, I understand. I'm pretty attached to my car and if I ever sold I'd probably list it high to make sure it went to a serious, committed buyer, not just some idiot hunting for a deal.

Sorry Dave, I gotta disagree with you on this one. If an individual has the play money to buy a 16 year old car (one of only 1,010 made) considered by those in the show circuit as virtually perfect and or "as new" with less than 5,000 miles---------------------------folks are willing to pay for that which they drool over.

Hey, and it doesn't hurt the value of our two Mondies either. I'm happier to see $89,500 than I would be to see $49,500. Don't you agree?:)

    Cheers, Hank

that's 1,017....so, guess the rarity is even less ?

You are indeed correct-------1,017 it is. The wonderful book, "THE ORIGINAL FERRARI V8" by Keith Bluemel, has followed me all over my home for years. I've read the number 1,017 at least 500 times-----so, where the he!! did I get 1,010?:)

Highjack question, Rik-----------how many Valeo equipped Mondial t cars were produced in late 92 and 93 (my Rachel, a Valeo, is a 92).

    Cheers, Hank

Uh, oh, <stumpped> I acually don't know but Keith DIDN'T say so either....he just said they 'might prove collectable yet..."

so, far, they command higher prices: One sold at FofSF about three months ago for a high of [listed] of $60+k to a FL collector...BUT he got a car used in the movie "Scent of a Woman" AND, so I was informed by the staff....the only '92 made.

    not sure

I'll guess about < 10 in US. world, I have no idea...those numbers should be kept seperate.

Uhhh guys....I just sold my 1991 "t" for 80k...today. And I did not have anything to smoke. This was a hard thing for me to do as my car was perfect in every way but the truth of the matter is that if you want a perfect Mondial they will demand a high price for the right buyer. Who knows maybe mine just set a record-but believe me, even at 80k it was still hard to part with.

...and to be fair mine only had 3,999 miles on the clock and was (is) in perfect condition. Some might go as far as to say better than the day it rolled out of the factory. The important thing is just as Hank said, "Hey, and it doesn't hurt the value of our two Mondies either. I'm happier to see $89,500 than I would be to see $49,500."

Geesh, a decked out Honda Accord will set you back 40k.....

I would say don't fight it folks, this only will help increase the value of your Mondials.

Guys, I got this here feeling, that our Mondials are starting to become one of the darlings of the "appreciation party". And while the $ numbers go up, I'll put two beach chairs, one cooler (without having to remove my detailing cart) and whatever else, in Rachel's boot. I'll pick up my lady friend and we'll go shopping for additional ****. We drop the rear seats to create the shelf--------------Ah guys, it's just amazing!!! I love this car so much. OK, I'll stop------for now:)

I just paid (In early July) 20k for my 90 T. It has 31k, and needed a service, tires, the interior freshened up, and some other minor work. I suspect that when I'm done, I'll have about 35 - 40k into it, which is about what I thought a prestine model would be worth. If it turns out there is a profit, that'd be great. Remember, the 246s were selling for about what the Mondial ts were selling for about 5 years ago. Now selling for 120k or more. Think about it.

    Art,

I'm now in the "kicking myself mode" because the $75,000 price tag that I deliberated over just 3 years ago, is now well over the $120,000 mark. Try $150,000 to $180,000 for a good 246:-(

    Yikes,

    Hank

Weve got some good little cars here boys/gals. I've always said wait until the collector market finds out how few there are in good shape, and we will be sitting pretty. I look at it as an investment that you can actually enjoy as it appreciates. Take good care of them. Some of us want to eventually own several.

Please send me your buyers name.

80K? WOW. That has to be a record and was it a straight 5 or Valeo?

I do like the fact that the market letters ARE showing a slight increase in this model....I know it will increase anyway. People love the car [as I'm a people, I do to]

But if someone offered me about 50K for it now, It might be tempting [have another 4 roomy car] to part, and try something I haven't.

Only tought thing for me is the T is my first Ferrari and a milestone for me.
