finally decided to get an mp3 player to work out with, an rca lyra (says it will play mp3 and windows media audio, which i presume is "wma"). the songs i downloaded that were "mp3" type downloaded fine but the file types that were "wma" download but when i try to play that track the player just plays it in super fast forward. tried different songs and same result, they all download, but only the mp3 formatted ones play correctly.

    any ideas???

Do the .wma files play ok on a PC? Sounds like the lyra may be misinterpeting the bitrate.

yep, they play fine on my pc (the wma files are songs i copied from CD's). the bitrate is w/n the allowable range as well. maybe the lyra is just messed up?? want to make sure i'm not doing something wrong before i return it.

See if there's a firmware upgrade for it. If there isn't, then I would return it.
