    I think it is time to create an Official Thread for the Murcielago. The Murcielago is arguably a car that marks the "End of an Era," for Lamborghini.

    Like many of the historic Lamborghini models, the Murcielago name is derived from bullfighting heritage. On October 5th, 1879, a bull named Murcielago fought so valiantly against matador Rafael Molina “Lagartijo” that the matador chose to spare its life! A rare honor that has been granted to very few bulls in history.

    The impressive Murcielago was gifted to Don Antonio Miura, a famous local breeder, and the famed Miura line of fighting bulls was born!

    Launched in September 2001 on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, the Lamborghini Murcielago design has become timeless, and it's evolution an important part of Lamborghini history.

    Was the Murcielago the start of the "Y" symbol that's become synonymous with Lamborghini ever since? I don't remember it appearing on the Diablo, but it's there on the seats in your images above. I don't think it appeared in the exterior lights until later models, but it's there in the seats (and carpets) in your images.

    I believe it started with the Reventon tail lights and interior details, launched at IAA Frankfurt 2007. This was later used in the 2009 LP Gallardo updates, Superleggera details and eventually the Murcielago SV in 2010.

    Yes, rough numbers would suggest the following compared to E-Gear models;

    2004-2006 Murcielago Coupe Manual Transmission premium of 20% +
    2005-2006 Murcielago Roadster Manual Transmission premium of 80% +
    2007-2009 LP640 Coupe and Roadster Manual Transmission premium of 80-140% +

    They are not the greatest car to drive, not the fastest car and not the most comfortable, but it offers a unique experience as it is the most moden of the old tech ... jumping between the V12 generations, it feels related to the Diablo or Countach, while the Aventador makes the prior cars feel like a relic. It has a presence that is on par with seven figure cars. Everyone bashes e-gear, but full throttle shifts are so blissfully violent. With some modifications LP's can be relevant to current cars' power, from a roll, and they offer old school tech & design characteristics with modern reliability, they are the king of road trips and adapt to all conditions. The sound ... one of the best of any roadgoing car.

    Chassis #4LA01161, a very early production Murcielago Roadster with 6-Speed Manual as featured in the "Batman Begins" motion picture with Christian Bale.

    An interesting car, built to USA specification with dual tone interior and owned by Audi Group. I have tried unsuccessfully to chase this car down. It was last seen between Bologna and Audi headquarters.

    Any info on where the 3 LP640's ended up after The Dark Knight? I read they thankfully only needed the first take where 1 of the 3 was to be side-swiped.

    One of the best LP640 Manual examples left in the world. 1 of less than 30-35 cars produced for North America in both Roadster and Coupe form between 2007-2009.

    As you know, we loved this car when we owned it! Stunning!

    *To note... it is 1 of 1 in Verde Ithaca LP640 Manual Coupe.

    From the info I found, the totalled car was the Geneva Show LP640 with gold intake manifold and gated shifter.
