I finally installed the Nouvalari system, sounds very good and is much lighter than the previous one. I have the original system but the one I took out is a Stebro, any good? I plan to polish it and build a lamp for my mancave.

I have a Stebro on mine and love it. What made you want to replace the Stebro with Nouva.?

That's because the steel members and brackets supporting the bumpers need to be much stiffer on US cars due to the laws asking the bumpers to support a 5mph impact; and also of the different exhaust configuration (euro 308s do not have catalysator(s).

I was looking for more noise, the Nouva is the SS and it have a more deeper and agresive sound.

The pink stuff is Bondo Gold product. There is a metal sheet covering the chassis, to create an uniform piece I covered the division between the metal sheet and the chassis. The only rusted part was a rusted corner in the right side. I sanded, removed the rust and paint it with rust converter (VHT) then I applied the paint and after 24 hours I put the DEI insulation and the DEI wrap. The plan was to put the Nouvalari in a decent exhaust compartment and to lower the high temperatures in the engine

Next project will be to put the Electromotive ''Nick'' system. I am going to search the forum to see the experience/feedback of other users. I am negotiating with my wife the free weekends, here is the To Do List:

    1. Electromotive
    2. Car painting
    3. To change the Dash/Arm rest Vinyl for leather (any suggestion?)
    3. Audio System installation
    4. Engine detailing/polishing

When you have the chance, you think you can post a video of your car? I sure love to hear the Nouvalari. Thanks.

Really? My Stebro is loud and aggressive as F#%% (and stainless).
Are you sure you took a Stebro off?
The company is very poorly run, but the exhaust they make is really nice. Neither here nor there though...

From the picture you can see the Stebro in the floor. Is going to have a special place in my mancave, still deciding what kind of use. Pinteres is full of ideas, look this one.

I came from work with the idea of polishing my valve cover. After testing this product for about 1 min with my drill, these are the results. I will definitely ask my wife for permission for this weekend.

Old thread I know but in regards to those pictures, that is just heat shielding on the US version. It's attached with pop rivets and has nothing to do with the chassis or structural integrity of the car, which underneath is identical. It's there because of the catalytic converters.

Rear bumper struts bolt into both left and right boxed frame rail. (Pic#2). The 16 gauge center panel between them is indeed riveted in place and holds a piece of insulation between it in the rear trunk area as heat preventative measure. His repairs did include inside of frame rails. Is it structural? No, not really but I don’t think that was what we were debating. Lol

Those aren't "box frames" they are just very light pop-riveted metal with fiberglass insulation backing - essentially heat shield covers for the bumper shocks which are mounted to the tube frame sections. I'm not gonna say that Bondo was the best solution here but the poor OP got drug through the coals over it and I don't think that welding in repair patches, as was suggested, is a viable solution unless you're good at welding tin cans together. The original metal has no welds, it has folded flanges and pop rivets. If it really bothered you the only real solution would be to drill the rivets out and make a whole new piece which wouldn't be that difficult. The cross sheet under the trunk is stainless you could probably make your new shields out of stainless too and solve the issue permanently.

This thread makes me sad. Guy posts what he’s doing to his car, is pleasant and honest, happy with what he’s doing, and gets ragged on incessantly by a bunch of hoity toity purists. 60-something posts and he’s gone...wonder why he left?
