Pulled the motor for the major, and figured it was the best time to pull the cats. I wanted to get rid of them and contemplated running the resonated pipes, but really want the sound out of the Tubi with no cats. Had no interest in spending the money wanted for the test pipes on the market so here we are. I made a jig of the factory cats to get an exact match out of scrap I had in my bin. This pic was in the process of finishing the jig. Will update with more pics of the finished jig and details and finished pipes.

Well done. The Superformance bypass pipes at $500 a pair are the cheapest on the market by far (AFAIK), and are still hard to digest.

I believe scuderia parts sells the catless pipes for about $300 a pair but still for a pair of pipes with a slight bend in them still expensive.

Eurospares pricing is about the same (Tubi). I paid 300 British Pounds which came to $446 (includes shipping to FL).

Those are for the 355, which is a different world when it comes to test pipes since they often will have CEL issues. In other words, a basic replace-cat-with-test-pipe procedure seems to work only with the 348.

I can imagine the frustration level being so high that "I couldn't get rid of those crap pipes fast enough!" :D

Agree, I was just showing how cheap things can be found on ebay with a bit of luck and a lot of patience.

Yes totally agree, the 355 can be a total pain with codes and lights - i have managed to overcome all the problems, by fitting Goth ECU's and Fabspeed mini cats - see post 267 in my thread...

I watched ebay for years to find used 348 test pipes but never saw any. So I finally fessed up for the new ones.

    Timing, I guess. ;)

I kind of regret putting my test pipes in...feel like I need to shower every time I drive the car now with the exhaust fumes hahah

    Sounds great though...
