Hey Guys, I just wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased my first Ferrari from 415 Motorsports in San Rafael. I've been mostly a German car guy my whole life, but I've always wanted to experience an Alfa or a Ferrari. I came across a great deal on a 308 that I couldn't pass up, and I'm glad that I didn't. It will need a timing belt change and a couple of small leak fixes, but nothing I can't tackle in my garage. I'd love to meet some other members located in the Bay Area if anyone is interested. I wanted to also give a big shootout to Matt at 415 Motorsports. What a great guy. Honest and transparent from the start. He made the purchase process so simple. Congrats Vlad! You will now have a totally different experience from the German Cars. I also know lots of 308 owners in the Bay Area as I think they have their own 308 group and I’m sure they will be more thank happy to meet you. Enjoy and post more pics, thanks.
...the Bay Area...that reminds me that I was in your neck of "woods", so to speak, only two weeks ago, Mike... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Welcome to the loony bin! Yeah, there is a gaggle of 3x8 owners in the Bay Area that herds together. We tend to catch up for Car and Coffee events but also drives and breakfasts and stuff. You might consider joining the Ferrari Club of America too. They have events. This weekend (Saturday 10:00 AM) is a Technical Session at Pimentel Innovations in Hayward regarding concours restorations/judging. You might consider crashing that. Bring your 308! I know at least a couple of us 308 owners will be there. I'm bringing mine.
I hope the SF Bay Area treated you well. Would have loved to catch up with you and show you around a little. Next time!
A very short answer, not to derail the thread: I traveled the "Northern route" by train with Amtrak, to catch a bit of the US scenery: Chicago to Seattle with the "Empire Builder", one day stop in Seattle; then Seattle to San Francisco with the "Coast starlight"; two day stop in San Francisco; then back to Chicago with the California Zephyr. Very happy and a nice experience of a very varied scenery. Yes, the Bay treated me well... Rgds
Vlad, it was awesome working with you to get this car safely transferred to the next rightful owner. I expect to see this car many times in the future, and can’t wait to hear it/drive it after you put your touches on her:
Your in the club now! I love your car. Growing up I always wanted an Alfa Spider and a 308 much like you. I got both over 20 years ago and they are both still here with me. I spent all weekend in the Alfa.
It's a GTSi Thanks! I guess I gotta start saving for an Alfa now. The person I got the 308 from is actually looking to get into a GTV.
Welcome to the 308 club! Brian is right, we are definitely a gaggle. You’ll have to come out on a drive with us. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
