T This is very helpful! Here in the US, PIP0 is $844.00. How much is the charge for PIOX? Was the dash surround stitching in STC2 color standard or by special request? My understanding was that the dash surround stitching matched PIP7. On the configurator, the dash surround appears to change color based on PIP7 regardless of STC2 color. Here is a screenshot of the online configurator. Although I've selected Red Stitching STC2, the dash surround stitching remains Crema to match PIP7.
PIOX is £428 here before tax. I believe that the stitching on the dash binnacle surround follows the chosen colour for the insert (PIOX in this instance being Grigio Chiaro). Had I left this insert in Cuoio Toscano to match the other PIP7 areas, I would have received thread to match that colour. On my GTB I had STC2 in Grigio Chiaro but the dash insert in Rosso Ferrari and it came with Rosso stitching on that area to follow the insert. I am sure it will be possible to have a deviation between thread and insert colour in this area if you wanted to but your dealer will have submit a request ticket to the factory on it. It did jar a little in my GTB having that area of stitching not match the rest of the interior. I'd have requested it in Grigio Chiaro on that car had I realised it was going to be red. This pic may show the stitching more clearly. It is Grigio Chiaro on the dash surround which ties in with the rest of the interior stitching. The only area stitched in matching thread is the lower dash and that necessitated a special request. I don't have a code for that and haven't had a final invoice yet so don't know if they charged me for that variation but am surethey likely have. If I hadn't requested it that lower area around the steering column would have had Grgio Chiaro stitching due to that being the chosen STC2 colour. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good point! I also noticed that if I chose Nero for PIP7 and changed PIP0 to Rosso, the dash surround stitching would follow the PIP0 color, but like what you stated about PIOX. You're such a tremendous help for spec'ing out a car!
I requested the PIOX variation to tie in with the ILS2 option leather inserts on the seat bolsters which are finished in Grigio Chiaro.
It can all get a bit confusing with the various codes. The best advice I can give is to use the schematic drawings from the product ordering guide and annotate all the stitching or leather colour variations you are interested in onto them OR alter a version of the dealer configurator image using P'shop or similar if you can and submit these to the factory for pricing requests. I've always done this to avoid mistakes in translation.
Great advice! Is the ordering guide available from the dealership, and do they provide it in PDF format?
Another question for you. What dictates the color of the stitching here? I've got STC2 set to Rosso, but the stitching here appears to match the Nero carpet color. Is there a code to change the color of this stitching to Rosso? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The stitching at the rear of the centre tunnel will be in whatever colour you choose for STC2. The configurator is not always reliable for showing things correctly.
Thanks. I have a "colourwall" going on that grew in size when I was debating my spec for this car and sprayed out a number of potential colour choices for it. I put the large shapes on my garage wall. Image Unavailable, Please Login I also sprayed out a whole bunch of smaller speed shapes so had to make a storage box to keep them all in. Very impressive with an exquisite sense for detail! The cardboard box reminds me of the Ferrari collector David Clarke and his business...
Love the spec and appreciate the insights on some of the "hidden" options. It really does take speccing a number of cars to learn the ins and outs of what you like, what's possible, what's important, and what is unimportant. Now if Ferrari would just stop reclassifying colors every few months....
The attention and positive comments I have had with this car is way beyond anything I've had with the many other Ferraris I've owned. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
