That is an incredibly light car. Porsche 906 territory I believe. Glad to hear you are now the custodian of this example. For the previous custodian to grant you custody must be an incredible honor. Congrats again to you.
First off, congratulations are in order. From a more self-centered standpoint this is promising as I want to own the Birdcage 75.
If you are serious they will build you a road going 75 on a US legal Show and Display MC12 chassis. Let me know if you want to be put in touch.
As long as there is not a decade or two wait for the technology to catch up with the idea I am fine with that. Or will I have to bring it back in 2o years for completion of the "image", George Lucas style?
PF actually showed me a system that was able to project an image into the side of a piece of plexi that you could see on the face. If it could work in sunlight etc I do not know and as you can imagine the quote for an entire dash was not cheap. I decided to let someone else blaze the path on that one...
Jim, when will you be posting some pictures of her "clean up?" Those are always some of my favorite pictures you post. Thanks!
Hi We may actually publish a small run of hard cover books on the entire project. I'll keep you up. Best
Jim, Is the plan for the book to cover your stewardship or are you going to get access to all the Pf archives for the original development? Jeff
Wow, now that would be cool!! I'll be the first in line. Look forward to seeing this beauty sometime in the future. Take Care.
Wow, how could I have missed this one. Trully stunning. Another iconic Ferrari for your stable. How could you top it? Buying the Modulo? Or no, wait, how about a wooden F50!
Likewise. Maybe if this pans out, we could see a series of pictorial-essay type books; say the 166SC (my favorite among your cars__that I know of, anyway). Followed by the P3/4 and the P4/5.
Very cool car that I honestly didn't even know existed. Very unique looking to say the least, congrats on another amazing car in the stable. Any idea when/if the car was last painted? Also a dumb question but I am assuming the body is made of aluminum?
Here's a cool photo. We're scanning her body into the supercomputer should, God Forbid, we ever have to repair body damage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I ran across an article on Pininfarina's design work in an old Sports Cars International Issue #93, I was going to throw away, if you'd like it.... *reaching under circular saw, in the truck* Here it is: "Pininfarina's 100th Birthday Review" ....April 1994 issue, nice photo shots....of this Dino. Nice write up as well. I'm really cleaning house..... It has photos of P6 in the same article.....
