    Hi all,

New here as you can see.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend.

Apologies for opening a thread like this, but I am quite concerned about my new purchase. The car runs fabulously, but the engine bay looks so tired. It’s a very low-mileage example but has been in the garage for 4 years and looks it..

Plus previous owner put so much aftermarket carbon on so many stuff which looks tacky

Anyways, I want to post a video to show you the amount of corrosion within the engine and check if this is normal ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Corrosion in the engine bay is not normal under any circumstances. If it’s not been loved I’d move on.

You should be able to treat/remove most or all of that corrosion. Use a good engine cleaner (I use Griot’s Garager engine cleaner) and then treat with a liberal amount of something like Griot’s engine bay dressing or Tri-Nova UV protectant. Here’s a couple before and after pics of my engine to illustrate.

Congrats and welcome! I’d start off with just a quick wash to get the dirt off and start some treatments like Allen mentions. The main thing to focus on if the car has been sitting is to change all the fluids. And I mean ALL of them. You’ll likely discover some creaking or aged rubber bushings/etc from it just sitting for a while. These cars don’t like to be stored for long periods and prefer to be driven.

Good luck with your journey and post up your progress as you fix her up!

    Hi all,

I hope you're all doing well

I've taken the time to thoroughly examine every detail of the car, and wow, it truly is something special!

Now, I need some help with a few cosmetic parts. The driver-side mirror looks like it has fallen off and has been poorly reattached with some sort of white glue. The speakers are all looking tired and need replacing. I have a middle section that needs replacing, and changing the head unit is a must since the current setup with the 2000-second nonsense for the key is something I definitely want to avoid. Additionally, I need the cover for the back of the passenger seat as the fuse box area seems to have been tampered with.

I've attached some pictures with some extras that I need, such as a new front boot opening button, centre console, definitely a new red engine cover as previously stated, driver side tail lights & help with the exhaust alignment as the right side had dropped and looks strange,

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and support on this journey.

Your mirror looks like someone used white silicone on it. There’s a recent post that shows you has to fix that.

You need to remove the screws from under the mirror with an angled Phillips screwdriver. This will separate the base from the mirror and arm. Once those are apart, you’ll see a rubber bushing. There are tiny screws that hold that bushing in place. Those probably are loose.

Check out Scud Ing Swiss for your taillights. They offer both replacement taillight housings and LED bulbs, including an LED center brake light.

For most parts check out Eurospares or Maranello Classic Parts.

Also, recommend look at our sponsor Stickynomore for switches/stickies work.

    Congratulations on your F430!

it is surprising to see some of these things on a very low miles car
